So, when the bell rang for lunch time. I packed my bags and left the class in a rush because the tension was too much!! I could feel it in the air. Making my way through the crowd, a guy suddenly appears by my side. Oh, not again. I rolled my eyes internally.
"Hi, you're the new girl, right? I'm Nate." He introduced himsef and I didn't even bother to see what he looked like, "Cool." I replied, the monotone ringing in my voice. He didn't seem to notice I was bored as he kept following me. I was really creeped out. What else did he want? "So, uh, your name?" He asked and I rolled my eyes for like the millionth time today. I noticed Leah was walking over, "Bye!" I quickly said to that Nate guy and ran over to Leah, "Thank goodness I found you!" I sighed. -
Leah:
I felt a sting of worry when I saw Nate, the school jerk, following Evelyn. I sighed with relief as Evelyn came over to me. I chuckled as she expressed her gratitude for my presence. "I was about to say the same thing." I cheered, sending a smirk Nate's way before guiding Evelyn down the hall. "I didn't want you to get lost, so I came to get you. Good thing I did, since you have seemed to gain the School Jerk's attention." I chattered. "Though, it's no surprise you caught his attention. You are really pretty." I added with a smile. -
I grinned like and idiot when she complimented my looks, "Thanks! You are too." I replied, tucking my hair behind my ears, revealing my rosy cheeks. "Woo, I'm so hungry I could eat a horse right now!" I looked down and held my tummy, patting it gently, "Calm down there boy." I looked back up at Leah, "Come on! Let's go for lunch!" I pumped my fists in the air and skipped to the cafe. Right now, I didn't really care who was looking at me and calling me weird. I wasn't nervous anymore. And that's a good thing.
-
Leah:
I grinned at Evelyn's blushing, happy to see that she was attracted to me. I chuckled and nodded my head in agreement when she said she was hungry. I smiled and followed her, watching her skip to the cafe.
Liam:
I smiled as I watched the girls come in. "I was getting worried! Where have you two been?" I asked. "I was playing a prank on some popular girl. Evelyn was being cornered by Nick." Leah sighed. "You mean Nock it Off Nick?" Bethlee asked her. "The one and only." Leah told us. "Oh geez. He's a jerk." I sighed. -
I walked down the hall and rolled my shoulders cracking them, I nodded as my mum talked on the phone that I held up to my ear as she talked and talked and talked. "So you guys are having fun?" I said with a small laugh in my voice.
"Yes, of course, love." She said loudly and I was sure the people walking around me in the hall could hear her voice as well. "How are you though? Have you burned the house down yet?"
"I'm fine, your house is fine but when are you coming home? The conference was done like two weeks ago."
"Well, we're enjoying Spain."
"The conference was in Ohio." I said and rubbed my face as I walked into the caf.
"We'll be home by next week... Probably." She said with a small laugh. She moved away from the phone but I could hear every word she shared with my dad. "Anyway, love, I'm gonna go have fun!" She laughed and hung up the phone. I shrugged and put my phone in my bag as I walked up to the group.
"Who's a jerk?" I asked only hearing the last part. -
Bethlee:
"Nick Jones." I told Ashton when he came in. "We're warning Evelyn about him cause he tried to hit on her." I added. Liam nodded and smiled at Evelyn. "Not that you need the warning. I'm sure you'd be smart enough to figure it out on your own. He's not exactly good at hiding it, especially towards pretty girls like yourself." Liam told Evelyn with a charming smile. I smiled and eyed her. "Good point." I agreed with Liam. -
I quickly sat down while the group was catching up. And I also found out Nick was the schools jerk. Probably why I didn't even like the sound of his voice. I took my food out of my bag. My aunt packed for me, candied sweet potatoes and chestnut cookies with strawberry milk. As I ate my chestnut cookies, I listened to what Liam was saying. He ended up complimenting me like Leah did and I stuffed the whole cookie in my mouth. I definitely looked like a puffy cheeked chipmunk. I was able to chew and swallowe it down before answering him, "Gee, thanks."
-
Leah:
"Cookies! Give me!" I demanded, stealing a cookie. "Leah." Bethlee warned, giving me a serious look while Liam chuckled. "Fine, Fine." I muttered, giving the cookie back. "I'm sorry." I told her like a five year old, then I grinned to let her know I was being a goof. "You're such a goof Leah!" Liam pointed out, chuckling at me. "Whatever." I replied, rolling my eyes as I ate my own lunch.
Bethlee:
I sighed as I ate my sandwich. Leah was a bit of a handful, but she was really fun to hang out with. "So, Evelyn, where are you from?" I asked curiously, studying her. -
(I'm going to wait for Sarah after this)
"Pennsylvania." I told Bethlee, taking a bite of my candied sweet potatoes, and washing it down with my strawberry milk. "How about you guys?" I asked, tucking my hair behind my ears and licking some of the strawberry milk off my lips -
Liam:
"We were all born here." I told her with a smile. "Well, except for Bethlee. She was a year old when she moved here. I believe you, your parents, and Leah's parents moved here from Idaho right?" Liam asked.
Bethlee:
I rolled my eyes. He was closer than last time, when he mistook it for Indiana. "No. We're from Iowa. We lived near the border between Iowa and Missouri." I explained. "Oh! So close!" Leah sighed teasingly, banging the table softly as if saying gosh darn it before chuckling. -
I sighed softly and sat down, "I wasn't born here, I was born in England. My parents moved right after I was born though so I guess it doesn't count." I placed my bag down and leaned on the table and then leaned on the table.
-
Liam:
"Oh yeah!" I replied, chuckling. "Don't worry Ashton. He forgets where everyone lived. He once said Carla was from Italy." Leah chuckled. "I thought she was from Germany." Bethlee replied. "Exactly." Leah replied, laughing at me. I rolled her eyes at her and sighed, eating my lunch and ignoring them. -
(Bumping this for Charlie)
-
(I didn't know it was my turn! Sorry!)
I laughed, rolling my eyes, and continued to eat my lunch. Once I was done, I picked up my strawberry milk and finished it in three gulps. "Ah!" I sighed in satisfaction as I set the bottle on the table. I tilted my head as I stared into thin air. Thoughts were running through my head. Thoughts about my new school, new friends, new surroundings. But I thought of this in a good way. I didn't think there'd be any drama with them around. My lips curved into a smile and I watched them as they talked and caught up with each other. Soon enough, the bell rang and I snapped out of my daze, picking up my bag and pulling it over my shoulder. -
Liam:
I sighed as we packed up. "Well, See you tomorrow gorgeous." I told Evelyn with a charming smile. "Hey, I saw her first." Leah chuckled, sticking Her toungue out teasingly at him. "Guys, she's right there. Have some self respect." Bethlee muttered. "Whatever." I chuckled before leaving the cafe.
Bethlee:
I sighed as Liam and Leah left before turning to Evelyn. "Sorry about that. They are full of jumping beans on the first day of school." Bethlee told Evelyn with a slight smile, hoping they didn't scare her off.
