While she was looking for the snake, I seized the opportunity. I grabbed the book from her pack, then hid it under my shirt.
-
I felt a hand in my backpack and swiftly turned to him. "What did you take!?!" I demanded, scared that he found the book.
-
I smiled, and handed her a pencil I took, just in case.
-
I took in a sharp breath and put it in my bag, eying him suspiciously. "You really are a peice of work." I told him, studying him.
-
I shrugged "What can I say?"
-
"I mean... Playing a 'made you look' prank on me? Just to steal a pencil? That means, either you must have really, really needed that pencil. Or getting me to like you has made you become cocky. So, which is it?" I asked him, crossing my arms. Though I couldn't help but smirk a bit despite the threatening look I was trying to express.
-
"Cocky. I use pens, not pencils" I shrGgged
-
I breathed deeply. I knew that despite my reputation I wouldn't hurt someone over a made you look trick. However I didn't like being tricked, and I didn't like that I let this guy become cocky. "Just how cocky are you?" I asked, walking closer to him with a raised eyebrow.
-
"Not that cocky, really. " I shrugged. I realized that I had finally gotten with Rita, who I had just developed a huge crush on this morning, and should I jeopardize it for some book?
-
"Good." I told him with a smile, studying him as I walked closer. "Because I am starting to like you." I told him. I made sure not to walk too close so I could avoid getting an urge to kiss him.
-
I saw a root sticking from the ground, but kept quiet. Rita seemed off guard, so maybe she'd trip. Her backpack was open, so the stuff might spill out. I can put the book there.
-
I saw the tree branch. I was about to turn and avoid it. However a very stupid part of me decided it would be a good idea to keep walking, trip, and see how Tyler would react to it. Before I could convince that side of me that that was a stupid idea, it was too late and my body sent me tripping to the ground, my backpack falling as I made sure to fall without actually hurting myself.
-
I quickly went to see if she was okay, and slipped the book to the ground behind my back. I helped Rita pick up her backpack contents.
-
I sighed, muttering at myself for my stupid idea as I gathered my stuff. I sighed deeply with relief to see that the book was safe. I put it in my bag before Tyler could see it, then pushed myself up.
-
"Are you okay?" I asked, yelling at myself for wanting her to fall.
