Thread Topic: No Room For Heroes Anymore.

I sat in my apartment thinking about what to do. Then I realized I needed help to do it, but who could I call upon to help me. My best friend died of cancer 2 years ago, and I didn't have too many options to consider. Then I got a beep on my smartphone. I received a group message from my old acquaintance, Cockroach.
Infinite: Pretty good. I just I could go for coffee. -
I sat in the windowsill and tapped her nails against the metal ring, she stared out at the lights. She heard her phone go off once and ignored it but the second time was when she swung her legs over and went over to the table and grabbed her phone and another cigarette. She put the cigarette in her mouth then hopped back up on the ledge. She read the messages and then looked at her left hand and played with the engagement and wedding rings on her finger and then shrugged..
Bloody Mary: Coffee sounds good. When?
---
She tossed her phone so it was resting between her crossed legs, she pulled her lighter out of her pocket and lit the smoke. -
Rey raised an eyebrow slightly, surprised with the somewhat quick responses. He was lucky that their numbers hadn't changed after all these years. After reading Marys response, he looked next to him and saw the inside of a coffee shop, oddly enough. He then looked back down to his phone and slowly started typing back.
Cockroach: Right now, if it's of no bother. I'm right next to the local male strip club/coffee stop, Coffee, Cocks, And Caffeine. I'm sure both of you can figure out what I want to discuss with y'all, what with all this emphasis on heroism and all the non-emphasis on heroine. -
Finn looked at Cockroach's text and thought it was odd a coffee shop would be in strip club, and he was even more weirded out by the name. Nevertheless, he responded back to Cockroach.
Infinite: I'll see if I can't find the place. I'm willing to bet our discussion will be most intriguing. -
-
Evie took a long drag from her cigarette which, at that point, finished it off. And she flicked it off the fire escape. She picked up her phone and started typing.
Bloody Mary: I'll be there in twenty.
---
She typed quickly and hopped off the ledge and typed another text. She went back into her room and got changed into her normal clothes. She heard the door open and the quiet footsteps came into the room as she pulled on her sweater. "What do you need? " she girl asked as she flipped down on Evie's bed.
"I have to go out for a bit are you okay to watch the girls?" Evie asked, she hummed quietly.
"Yeah, whatever. Lincoln is being an assistant and I love watching my life nieces."
"You do know you won't be playing with them or anything." she shrugged. "Okay close the window." Evie said and left the apartment carefully and quietly. -
Rey flipped his phone shut as he finished reading Evies response, then turning to face the entrance of the coffee joint/male strip club. From outside the building the scent of a cheaply made cup of joe could be inhaled with a mere sniff. On top of that, smooth jazz could be heard somewhat through the brick walls and glass doors, though 'smooth' might not be a fitting word. It was smooth jazz from a no-name band because, lets be real, this place can't afford real entertainment. It wouldn't surprise me if the musicians were actually just the store employees trying their best with instruments that were shoved into their hands.
Done taking in my surroundings, I enter the building only to see lots of provocative males walking around serving people hot cups of caffeine, most suited up in tight latex and fishnet stockings. If I didn't know any better, i'd assume this was a trap bar, and not the good kind of evil trap either. But, seeing as I already said to meet up at this place, I put aside my feelings for this place and sat down at the table right at the far corner near the back, where the scent of coco was strongest and the light was dimmest, with nothing but a few dimly lit neon-colored lights emitting any sort of light.
Shortly after I sit down, one of the seductively dressed waiters walked over to my table, leaning down to be at eye level with me and his ass stuck far outward. He had a young face, smooth skin with bright blonde hair and what seemed to be lip gloss on his mouth. His skin color was a light peachy tone and had blush applied to the cheeks. It was too perfect, clearly being achieved by a lot of surgery. "What'll it be tonight, sugar?" He asked, moving his hand slowly as if to caress my chin. Uninterested with his attempts to tug on my heart strings, I flick his hand away and look at him with a dead stare. "I'm waiting for friends. Wait till the two of them get here. You can bother me then, and only then." And with that, he quickly snaps back up in irritation and struts off to try and get into the pants and wallet of some unwise fool. -
Finn used his phone to find the place and was still weirded out by the combination. He entered and tried to look around for Cockroach. While he was looking he was approach by a brown haired male who said "Hey there, would you..." He didn't finish before Infinite said "Touch me and I will make your life a never-ending misery." The male backed down and Finn soon found Cockroach and sat down.

I feel it important to tell y'all that I cut off a piece of my finger in culinary today.))
Evie typed the name of the place into her phone and took her time walking there. She was somewhat sure she knew where the place was but not sure enough to not worry about getting lost, she walked and looked around as she did so, she never really went out during the night anymore and the only sight of it she had was out the window in the living room. Night was always her favorite time of the day, she didn't really miss the scummyness of the night anymore but that was probably because it was just as see able in the day just with better lighting.
After about fifteen minutes she made it to the place and walked in she smiled gently at a waiter she passed and sat down with the other two, "Well you both look grumpy." She said rolling her eyes and leaned back in her chair and crossed her leg over the other. "I'm sure it's been a while since you've been in the presence of such a beautiful woman, you should be happy." She joked with a slight smile. -
Cockcroach scoffed at her remark and shrugged. "I'm just... Tired." He said, afterwards taking a deep breath before exhaling semi-loudly. "Anyways, how... Have you two been?" he asked, acting as if he genuinely cared. He wasn't too interested on the current situation of the two, but it could come in handy earlier down the line if one of them turned out to be less 'out-of-line' than he expected.
He looked behind Mary and saw the same blonde trap making his way back over here, the same fake expression plastered on his face. "Waiter is coming." -
Finn sort of smiled at Mary's statement but he answered Cockroach "Same as usual. Looking out my window, trying to think of all the time I have to waste."
-
Evie raised an eyebrow at the oddly personal question as she wasn't expecting it, she was a little sceptical about it. Under the table she pulled off her wedding rings and his them in her jean pockets. She propped her right arm on the back of her chair, she shrugged slightly, "Nothing that would interest you has been going on." she said, "What about you?" she asked and took a small look behind her for the waiter.
-
Rey shrugged as if to say "nothing much" before the male waiter stopped by again and, with more impatience that before, asked "What'll ya'll be having?" Rey took a moment to confirm his choice before saying "Black Coffee. I'll be paying for the three of us." He then looks at the other two. "Assuming this is alright with you two. I don't want to make you seem poor as if you couldn't pay for it yourselves."
-
Finn said "That's fine. I'll just take a normal coffee. Nothing special in it.
-
Evie raised an eyebrow at how he easily he brushed her off. She chuckled and nodded, "Like I'd ever pass on an opportunity to not pay. I'll have a double-double." She said with a small smiled at the waiter but then turned her attention back to the other two.
