I'd like to play a bit of a modified D&D. I called it "AQ". Basically, I'll be the dungeon master. I'll set the scenes and each person will write (once per turn). If initiative/checks need to be rolled, I will roll the die. I'm very fair, don't worry. I'll set the scene.

Tarmikos was once a peaceful island. Many people settled there in the early days. The elves and humans co-existed to protect their lands. The planted, rolling fields were nearly always in bloom with different vegetables and sweet fruits. Wild boar were abundant, along with game birds and small, edible rodents. Tarmikos was once very prosperous.
Once.
After decades of war, Tarmikos is no longer an island of decadence. In fact, most people can barely scrape by under the corrupt governing system. The nobility, mostly comprised of elves and b------ half-elves, are wealthy, often strutting around on white horses, meanwhile, the commoners starve to death while reaping their poor harvests.
The only thing that keeps many going is the old tale, now considered treason to speak of, that Tarmikos used to be healthy, and a beautiful place to live. Even the nobility - the ones who aren't corrupt, anyway - talk about it in hushed whispers. Many young men and women leave the island in search of a new paradise, but none have ever returned.
