C1 is a proud nerd. C1 is the head of the Mathletes, the captain of Chess club, and has a bulletin board on their bed room wall filled with A+ report cards, science fair awards, and posters they made for math strategies or science theorys. C1 dreams to be a math and science teacher when they grow up. However C1 is terrible at communicating with others. C1 also doesnt understand that they need to be able to communicate well if they want to be a good teacher.
C2 And C1 used to be best friends. But they went their separate ways in high school. C2 is in with the popular crowd. Head of Student council, captain of the Cheerleaders, Football team, Gymnastics team, etc, and has no problem getting a boyfriend/girlfriend. C2 is a charmer and loves adventure! C2 however has trouble admitting their true feelings. Like their feelings for C1 that caused them to end their friendship. Or like the fact that they hide who they are because they dont want to risk others not liking who they are. Because of this pressure and anxiety, C2 does terrible under pressure.
C3 is very passionate. C3 is the director of Drama club and is the lead singer in band. C3 has creative hairdos and weird outfits. C3 often sits alone and pushes people away because they dont want to put up with people. C3 is smart but doesnt really care about school. C3 is very resourceful and knows the school by heart. C3 is terrible at dealing with others emotions. Especially their own.
C4 is very strict, responsible, focused, and independent for a teen. C4 always follows rules by the letter and carries the student handbook wherever they go. C4 appears very confident and serious but really is very anxious. C4 is afraid that if they break one rule then theyll be seen as a normal teenager. C4 isnt confident so following rules to the letter makes C4 more confident about themselves.
These four students get detention one day. They are told to sort out the schools basement. C1 finds an old video game in the basement called Zathura. The four students select their avatars and begin to play! The four students are sucked into the game and become their avatars! Which means they have to be a character that doesnt quite fit their comfort zone.

Danielle Farnes is the captain of the Starship Zathura. Captain Farnes is a captain whos loyal to their team and will do anything for them. This means they have to communicate every order clearly and surely for their team. Can C1 do that? Can C1 communicate in a way that both the NPCs and their fellow students understand what to do? Can C1 even get them to listen to a nerd like them?
Dr. Jack Gaslong:

Jack Gaslong (or Jackal Gaslong) is the medical chief of the ship. That means they have an entire team depending on them. The lives of the injured are in Dr. Gaslongs hands. Can C2 handle that pressure? Can C2 handle the emotional shock of failure?
Alex Dassan:

Alex Dasson is the First Officer of the team. They have to keep the ship in order and in line. They have to make sure everyone is doing the best they can. They have to make sure everyone is physically, and emotionally, balanced. They have to fix social and professional problems on the ship. And help give the captain advice. Alex Dassan is best friends with one of the NPCs. Which means C3 has to act like a best friend. Otherwise the game may glitch and something unpredictable will happen.
Dr. Sandy Phillips:

Sandy Phillips is the science officer and pilot of the ship. Sandy Phillips is a very attractive avatar who has the attraction of the charming co-pilot. An NPC, it seems this co-pilot will stop at nothing to make Dr. Phillips fall for them. Thing is, C4 is tempted to. And revealed to them later is that the games story line actually wants Dr. Phillips to fall in love with the NPC. Will C4 put down their walls and put their heart on a line in order to win? Or will C4 be stopped by anxiety? -
