Lauren unbuckled her belt and tried to climb along to the back, to escape from the big impact, and now the plane was almost steep enough to be vertical. She instead slipped, fell toward the bottom, fell toward death. There was a defeaning crash as the plane made contact with the waves, as Lauren made contact with the metal and everything went black, her screams dying down suddenly. She thought it would be the end.

Wolfgang sat for a while until he saw something shiny floating on the water. It washed ashore and he found a woman he had never seen before. He took her and brought her to the village chief. No one really knew what to do, but knew she was alive. -
Lauren coughed a bit, her eyes opened and adjusted to the light around her. Where was she? She panicked, trying to get up and access her surroundings but a pain stopped her from moving much. Lauren realized in surprise that she couldn't remember why she was here either.

One of the village people said "Whoa, take it easy. You look like you took quite a hit."

Lauren blinked. She looked around, people from all sides watching her. Where- who- was she? "How did I end up here?" Lauren asked to no one specifically.

The villager said "We don't know. We thought you knew." A different person asked "Who even are you?"

"That's a good question." Lauren said, putting her hands to her face in irritation. Who was she? "My name's Lauren Blanche. I .. I dont know anything else." She tried to pull back in the memories, but it was all just a blank slate.

The chief came to her and asked "You really don't remember anything except your name?"

"You must be the leader around here," Lauren said in relief. "Yeah I don't .. I don't know remember anything else that happened."

The chief said "If that is the case, I, Chief Oka, welcome you to our island home." he got on his knee to bow to the stranger and the others followed suit.

"Oh that's fine, um, thank you." Lauren said in discomfort. She wasn't used to so many people bowing to her. Or maybe she was! She could be a lost princess for all she knew. She wanted to do a bow back but she feared her head would cause pain.

The chief stood up and said "You can stay here with us until you find your memory again. However one must be appointed to help you and be your guide to this island."

"Oh, thank you! You're all so kind," Lauren said. She wondered who would be assigned to help her around. She guessed she'd have to stay here for a while. But where was "here"? She knew it was an island, she could taste the salty water of the ocean always in the air.

The chief looked around and said "Wolfgang, you found her and you are the smartest on the isle. You will be her guide." Wolfgang said "I will do it sir."

Lauren looked at Wolfgang solemnly, wondering what kind of person he was. Was he intrigued by her? Was he actually hating this job? What was his story? She'd have to ask about him when he showed her around the island.
