If you have the desire to break the laws of space and time.... Er... I mean... The laws of place and Lime... Then I have to keep an eye on you. Heather replied. She was strict. But she was still ten. So she slipped up now and then.
-
''I won't break them...'' Amber said, huffing out a puff of air. ''Look, Heather, I don't have any technology while other teenagers do, and they don't bother me or anything but, it's like they're trying to avoid me,'' Amber clasped her hands together, her eyes pleading. ''Just this once nothing could possibly go wrong, I just want a friend in a timeline where technology existed but, not everyone had it,'' She said a smile gracing her lips. ''I'll get you whatever you want for a week,'' Amber said putting up one finger. ''Even better, two weeks!'' She said another finger flicking up.
-
Heather sighed. Okay. But Ill have to come with you and make sure you dont break rules. I think I know a loop hole. But... Well have to wait for my Dad to leave for work. Come back tomorrow before school. Heather told her.
-
Amber smiled and embraced Heather. ''Thank you, thank you, thank you!'' She chanted. ''I'll definitely come back tomorrow, don't you worry,'' Amber said, her eyes glittering with excitement. ''Alright, so what's the first thing you want?'' Amber questioned, hoping it wasn't out of her price range.
-
A favour. At a time of my choosing. Heather replied, smiling as Alex returned with the dolls.
-
''Alright,'' Amber said, looking over at Alex. ''Oh, pretty dolls.'' Amber complimented, with a smile. ''Which one can I use?'' She asked, admiring the dolls.
-
The next day, Heather waved her father good bye as he headed to work. She knew she wouldnt be late for school because no matter how long it takes them to travel through time, they would always be able to come back. However Amber was taking forever in real time.
-
Amber continued walking, camera in hands as she looked over some pictures she took. Humming, Amber admired the pictures. While walking, she spotted some good scenarios where she'll be able to take some perfect pictures. She spotted Heather and waved towards her with a grin. ''Hello!'' Amber hummed, walking towards her.
-
Dont take the camera. The technology might be too much for the timeline. You wont need to take any pictures anyways. Taking pictures back in time coul$ also cause harm to the space time continuum. Heather told Amber as they entered the house.
-
''Man, I wanted to take sone cute pictures of all the people wondering the streets,'' Amber said, pouting. ''So, what timeline would we be going to? The Middle ages, Victorian era, or maybe to the 1900s!'' Amber smiled at the thought. ''I could probably get like a cool gift for my parents.'' She hummed, kicking her feet. ''That would be so cool!'' Amber said, looking at the ten year old. ''So what's the first thing we have to do?'' Amber questioned, saluting Heather.
-
You cant bring anything, and I mean anything back from the timeline we visit. Heather said very strictly. A rock could have ended up as a lucky charm for some famous person. A bug could have been a new species that a famous researcher discovered and studied. We cant harm or take anything from that time. Unless it was already supposed to leave the timeline. Heather told Amber as they walked to the door. Which is why I did some research. There have been many people who died in the accident of the Titanic. Many of which bodies were never found. If we take one of the people out of that time just before they fall into the ocean then we should be fine. Heather told Amber.
-
''Meaning that I could bring someone who was meant to die into our timeline?'' Amber questioned, ''Also meaning that I could totally bring someone with me!'' Amber cheered, completely excited for the adventure. ''But who would have some importance to a rock, there are a million of other types of rocks out there,'' Amber said chuckling. ''So where does the adventure begin?'' Amber asked, rubbing her hands together mischievously.
-
Yes. But even if theres a one in a million chances that someone chose that rock as important, they would have had to choose another rock. But if the rock you chose was the only one that did justice to their faith in luck, then the faith could shift and cause them to feel less confident. Its a one in a million chance. But better safe than sorry. Especially when it comes to time. Taking something from the timeline is like doing brain surgery. Take a sliver of the wrong piece out, and you can ruin the entire brain. Heather told her. It begins at the Titanic. Maybe if you actually listened to me like you said you would, you would have heard that. Heather told her, having second thoughts about this when she saw Amber be mischievous.
-
''Titanic,'' Amber groaned. ''You're too smart for your own good,'' Amber mumbled. ''Why the Titanic? There are other timelines we can go to right?'' She rubbed at her eyes. ''I'll just take what I can get I guess, so let's hurry up!'' Amber hummed, hurrying past Heather.
-
Heather pulled her back. Taking you back in time is appearing to be like doing brain surgery with a chain saw!!! Heather yelled. You, stay here and sit. Ill go fetch someone. Heather groaned, pushing Amber into her chair.
