Plot from:
Muse A hasnt had the best of luck in life thus far. Despite their efforts at (becoming wealthy, getting the girl/guy of their dreams, insert Muse As greatest desire here), it seems as if everything they want is always just outside of their reach. Muse A is in a slump and they dont know how to get out of it. While cleaning out their houses basement, Muse A finds an old book with weird symbols in it and text that seems to be written in Latin. Muse A dusts it off a bit and shows it to a friend to see what they think of it. When they discover that its a spell book, Muse As friend dares them to do one of the rituals. Whats the harm? Its probably fake, they both figure. Assuming the ritual wont work anyway, Muse A accepts the dare, gathers the required ingredients and performs it. When nothing happens, Muse A and their friend have a good laugh and the friend leaves. When Muse A begins to clear the ritual space, theyre greeted by Muse B, the demon that theyve summoned. Muse B explains that they have the ability to possess the body of other human beings in order to manipulate their thoughts and actions so that they submit to Muse As will. Upon signing a contract in blood, Muse B will be bound in service to Muse A until Muse A can no longer honor the terms of the contract. It is unclear what will happen if the contract is ever broken. Desperate to change their circumstances, Muse A is hasty to sign the contract and start making some demands. For every possession that Muse B is asked to complete, a sacrifice is required. Fresh blood. At first Muse B only requires a few drops of blood from Muse A. But gradually the demon requires more. The longer Muse B is around to perform tasks for Muse A, the stronger the demons blood lust grows and the greater the sacrifices must become to satiate Muse B. When the demon requests a human sacrifice, Muse A refuses. As close as they are to having their perfect life, thats a line that theyre unwilling to cross. This refusal breaks their contract and Muse B is free to roam and wreak havoc on the unsuspecting.

Damien looked at the spell book that was in his hand. The cover was bound in black leather and the pages were yellowed with age. He flipped it open to one of the pages and shook his head. The drawings he saw were grotesque and mind boggling. "Come on, don't be a chicken!" his friend Ariel urged him on, pulling at his arm and leading him back to the living room. He knew what she wanted him to do, but his heart was hammering in his chest. His grandmother had told him never to provoke the spirits. Especially if something like this happened. Ariel kept tugging at the sleeve on his hoodie and he groaned. "Okay, okay. If I do this little....chant,will you stop bugging me about it?" he said, looking at her with a slight glare. Ariel nodded and placed her hands behind her back with a copy smile. Damien shook his head and looked around the house for what he though he would need in a ritual.
When he walked back into the living room, he was carrying three black candles, two red candles, a canister of salt and the spell book. He looked around and spotted Ariel sitting on the couch. It seemed like she was watching him with a slight morbid curiosity, because he knew she wouldn't do this with him. He took the canister of salt and opened it, pouring it into a pentacle shape on the hardwood floor. He continued pouring the salt until he had made "The Circle of Death", just like the book had wanted. Damien let out a long sigh as he walked over and picked up the five candles, lighting each one and setting them down at a point on the star. He looked up toward the ceiling and closed his eyes as he raised his hands.
"Oh restless demon, show yourself. Whether with tattered body or unborn shell! Show us your strength and willpower tonight, lest the shade be drawn over your weary eyes."
Damien stood there for a moment, unsure of whether the spelled worked. He looked over at Ariel who shrugged her shoulders and grabbed her bag. "I guess it was a bust." she said, a hint of disdain in her voice as she left, leaving Damien to clean up the mess. -
Aifiular had been reading when he felt a pressure pulling at him. His eyes slowly moved away from his book, and he squinted into the dark nothingness that surrounded him. A voice broke out among the blissful silence- a voice of confusion, but strong. Whoever it was that was reaching out to him wanted something. He heard the desperation in their voice. Sighing, the demon's clawed hand folded the page of the book in his hands and slammed the covers shut. He rose from his seat, eyes gleaming. He couldn't remember the last time a human had called upon the mighty Aifi.
Holding out his hands, the demon hissed, "Take me to the human who calls for me." Immediately, the air crackled with life, and a portal opened in front of the demon. It swirled in front of him, an angry mess of shadows and evil magic. He stretched out his aching limbs, waiting for a moment. He wanted a grant entrance. Clasping his claws together, Aifiular stalked through the portal, ancient robes swishing behind him.
He appeared in a completely different dimension. Without bothering to look at his surroundings, Aifiular boasted, "Foolish mortal, you have summoned a very powerful demon. I am the great Aifiular! Fear not, however, for I am bound to this space until you break the salt barrier that holds me hostage. Tell me, what is it that you desire?" For a moment, the demon stood there, his hands in an awkward position in the air. He paused, slowly looking down. There, on the floor, was a human. They appeared to be cleaning up the very summoning circle the demon stood in. He stared at them, his hands still in the air. Quickly, he dropped them, pointing a single claw in Damien's face. "What... Are you doing?" he asked, squinting. -
Damien hear a voice and looked up. His gaze rested upon demon, that was floating above where the salt circle had been. He dropped the candles that he had in his hands, trying to piece it all together. Maybe he was just seeing things, and this was part of his over active imagination. He rubbed his eyes, then blinked. Yes, the demon was still there. Damien slowly leaned down, keeping his gaze fixated on the demon as he grabbed the candles that were in the floor. If he didn't have anything to protect him, at least holding the candles gave him a sense of false security. "I d-didn't think the r-ritual would actually w-work." he said, stammering as he stayed in the same spot, a million thoughts running through his mind. Finally, a few seconds later he was brave enough to take a slight step forward, looking at the demon up and down. "The question isn't what I want." he said, his tone slightly braver than before. "What can you offer me?" He was genuinely curious as to what the demon would say. Oh, if only Ariel could see this now.
-
Aifiular watched the human with fascination, hovering just above the pentacle. He placed a hand over his muzzle, stifling a laugh. The human looked extremely baffled. "Child, you found a book of summoning spells.. And you thought it wouldn't work?" He leaned forward, placing a hand against the salt. He stroked the lines, looking directly into Damien's eyes. "Rituals always work. You would not have called for me if you didn't believe it would work. If your mind doesn't believe in me, at least your heart does."
It took a moment for the human to readjust, but the sudden personality change amused Aifi. He snapped his fingers. A cloud of darkness surrounded the demon's body, cloaking him from Damien's line of sight. Suddenly, the darkness dispersed, and a man was standing on the pentagon. He adjusted the cuffs on his jacket, clearing his throat. "My powers, while limited, are far beyond useful to you. I can possess humans, and manipulate their very beings. Their thoughts and actions belong to me once I inhabit their body. Think of me as puppeteer, if you will. I can make that being... A slave to you." Aifi's voice in this form was smooth, like silk, but deep. He offered the young adult a smile. "I can do other, minor things, but something tells me they are not as important to you." -
Damien looked at the demon with thoughtful eyes. If this demon could get other people to bend to his will, there were numerous possibilities of what could happen. He thought back to Ariel for a moment, a sly grin crossing his face. If what the demon said was true, he would no longer have to deal with Ariel's child-like ways. It also meant that he would no longer have to deal with the people he despised on a day to day basis. He looked up at the demon and grinned, then quickly frowned. "What's the catch?" he said, placing the candles on a book shelf that was behind him. "There's always a catch with these types of deals." Damien crossed him arms over his chest, looking down at the pentacle that he hadn't cleaned off the floor yet.
-
Aifi shrugged, glancing around the room. It wasn't very grand. The last person he had worked for was rich, and had summoned him in an elegant room. He saw a couch off to the side, some shelves, various appliances and furniture you would find in a living room. After a moment, the demon replied, "All I ask for is blood. It has to be yours, at first, but... Eventually, once our pact is stronger, I can receive blood from anyone." A finger snap, and a contract appeared before Damien, floating mysteriously in the air. A pen with a suspiciously sharp tip was attached to the top. "Sign that with your very blood, and I will be under your control until you no longer need me."
