Edseer nodded as they finally came in contact with the tower. "Ah, here we are then. There should be a stairway up to the top of the wall, and from there we'll find a way down to the inner- AGH!" Edseer lets out a moan of pain as a blue arrow pierces through his left arm. "In the name of... Where did that come from?!" He looks up at the top of the wall where a figure sits casually, tossing a rock down at their feet. "Halt, hollows! Turn back now!" Yells down the figure, obviously threatening the two undead.
-
Dak backstepped(hehehe) in surprise when the arrow hit Edseer. "We are not here to harm anyone. We are merely here for some answers." Dak said hurriedly hoping to spark some negotiation, which was his usually strong-suit despite him being a warrior. "We have been through a lot and would just like to rest and process what has happened."
-
The figure laughed and stood up on the edge of the high wall. "Looks like we got a pacifist here! Well, i'm sure you'll be easy pickings for my friends here." He hops down from the edge and starts waving his hands around, the palm glowing with a dark purple aura.
"Dak, I'm afraid negotiations won't be of any use here. That vile being is a necromancer! They specialize in raising the dead to do their bidding. Ready yourself!" Edseer slowly pulls out his Estus and takes a sip, his arm wound healing up significantly. -
Dak took out his sword and shield and looked around for cover, he had dealt with necromancers before but they had specialized in pyromancies. The only experience he had with them were when the Dragon Remnants had engaged in battle with the Silver Roses. He dived for the cover of another conveniently placed rock.
He looked through his pack for anything that might help, he found a couple of lifegems and a few throwing knives, but those probably wouldnt do much good from behind the rock. -
Edseer flexed his arm a little before pulling his greatshield off his back and into position. "I'll head up the staircase, Dak! Once it's clear, i'll yell down to you and give you the clear! In the meantime, just... Uh... Do your thing!" He then proceeded to head inside the poorly lit tower, an extremely large spiral staircase being his only way up. Luckily, his greatshield made for excellent cover from frontal attacks.
The voice from above started to speak again as Edseer began entering the tower. "Tsk! You dare think you could oppose Gwendalia?! I'll have your head!" She waves her hands a bit more, looking down where Dak is hiding. Suddenly, two knights arise from the ground and see Dak laying low. They charge him, regardless that their swords are broken and that they have no shields. "Have fun, maggots! I'll be back for you later! Toodles!" She waves goodbye and runs off down the wall, out of anyones sight. -
Dak readied his sword and charged the two warriors stabbing one in the gut causing it to fall over. The second one was smarter however and it backed off after seeing its comrade fall so easily. This didn't last long however as it charged with its broken straight sword and was put out of its misery with a quick stroke. Dak poked one of the corpses with his sword, thinking about how that easily could've been him.
Dak walked over to where Edseer was and sheathed his sword. "In all my life I don't think I've ever heard someone say toodles." He noticed a gash on his arm that looked like it was soaking in blood pretty bad. He pulled out a lifegem and crushed it. Slowly the gash closed up and began to fade. -
"Quite a foreign vocabulary she has, yes? Based on her accent, I have reason to believe she reins from Jorsthowl, a small country in the northen hemisphere." Suddenly, interrupting Edseers voice, an arror flies down from the ceiling and grazes Edseers helmet. "Archers!" exclaims Edseer, causing him to raise his shield above his head like an iron umbrella. "Watch your head, brother!" The Silver Rose guard then proceeds to grab Daks arm and raise his shield above his own head. "Watch our backs and i'll worry about the front, yes?" Edseer gives a slight chuckle before speeding up the pace and which he traversed up the spiral staircase.
-
"Got it." Dak raised his new shield scanning the area for any archers. He knew he would probably never have a better chance to bail but after the small incursion that just occured he felt a certain fondness to his new comrade. He followed up as quick as he could behind Edseer trying his best to keep up. A couple of arrows embedded themselves in his shield, but he could tell it was sturdily crafted so he knew it would keep up. He had a small flashback of when the Varangians had invaded the castle and were raining arrows on him and the group of his soldiers he was with.
-
Trusting his comrade, Edseer didnt bother looking behind him. Instead, all he saw was a tall hollow man who was frail and thinned to the bone heading down the stairs with a large axe. "Tsk! Try and get me while im exposed will you?" Said Edseer, grimacing inside his slightly worn helmet. As soon as the pale imitation of a human was in range and raised his axe above his head to go for one fatal swoop, the noble guard kicked it in the stomach and sent him falling back on his ass. Then, once he heard the last arrow clang off his shield, he slammed the end of it down on the fallen hollows neck for a quick decapitation before raising it back up for protection. "Haha! Poor b------ didnt see it coming!" gloated Edseer, his grimace now a cocky grin.
-
When the last arrow fell Dak lowered his shield. "Don't get cocky, thats how I was killed." The memory of his impalement flew through his head but he quickly dismissed it."There's probably more of them somewhere. A hollow with a broken knife ran up to them to quickly get its head sliced off with a clean sweep. "Like that one for instance." A couple more lifeless hollows ran out of the shadows and their cover but the pair quickly dismantled all of them until they were surrounded by corpses.

Edseer gave a large heave as the horde was finally slain. Black blood lay splattered on the ground and both warriors armor, proof of a job well done. "Well, good job, brother! Now, we should get onto tracking that wretched necromancer, but before we do that... We must preform our little ritual, yes? Just because we are undead doesn't mean we are exempt from our soul-bound duties!" Edseer gave Dak a loud huff of laughter and scooped up some blood off a bleeding corpse, then pouring it into Dak's hands. "Now, I know the fact that it's black might seem a bit off-putting, but i'm sure you won't get any sort of disease." He then stepped back and waited for Dak to preform the ritual of the Silver Rose.
