Dirge stared up at her in terror, crouched and ready to run if she moved

Theresa asked the boy "Are you a ghost or ghoul?"

Dirge shook his head slightly

Theresa said "Then why are in my basement? Do you actually live here and I've been cheated out of my money?"

Dirge shook his head "I'm hiding" he said softly, hugging himself as he started shivering

Theresa said "There's nothing here that can hurt you. Why don't you come out and come into the kitchen? You look like you could use something to eat."

Dirge watched her warily but he nodded slowly, lifting s hand to tug at the collar

Theresa noticed the collar but decided to ask about it later. She helped the boy out of the pile of crates and led him upstairs. She made him a sandwich and sat with him at her table.

Dirge looked around nervously as he was led out of the basement and he watched her make the sandwich

Theresa sat down and said "Now, tell me hun. Who are you and why do you have to hide?"

Dirge looked down at his hands "I'm Dirge." He said softly" and I'm hiding because I'm different

Theresa said "That's no reason to hide. Everyone's different, that's what makes them other people."

Dirge shook his head "I'm different because my parents where different

Theresa said "I still don't understand what you mean. That's still no reason to hide."

He sighed softly"I'm a hybrid"
