C1 is a pretty normal teen, if you ignore the fact that their a genius, who had just transfered highschools. Soon after they start school c1 meets another teen(c2) and almost immediately notices something about them is a little off.
C2 is an only child, but thats not a good thing. Their father is an abusive drunk, their mother rents c2 out as a sex toy to make money and they live in a celler.
After c1 finds out c2's secret and tells the cops, c1 offers to have c2 live in there home until they can afford a place of their own
Or
C1 is a fairly normal child, other then the fact that they are from a family of witches, who lives in the mountains with their family. But one day, a stranger shows up, on the brink of death, with a child(c2). C1's family discides to take the child in after the stranger dies, but that proves to be a bad idea. Soon after, a group of hunters show up, demanding c2. Of course, c1's family refused to give the strange child to the hunters, so the hunters try to take c2 by force, killing c1's family. Luckily (or not) c1 and c2 were able to escape and now they are on the run. -
