(Wait is it 11:45 like midday or is he out near midnight)
"Really? It's not exactly common where I'm from, but uncommon names are pretty popular." She followed him, making a mental note that the hand meant stop, and the walking person meant go. She peered up at the building they approached, wondering if he lived there. "It's a long story. I had other plans that fell through and now I'm stranded. I guess you could say that I'm pretty far from home." -
(Midday.)
He chuckled as he walked through the lobby of the apartment building, walking over to one of the elevators. He pressed the up button and waited patiently for it to come down. "Well since you're staying here with me I guess that long story can wait until later." he smiled lightly as the doors opened quickly in front of him as he walked into the enclosed space and pushed the second floor button. "I'll...probably have to give you something different to wear." -
She leaned against the elevator railing out of habit, but was definitely surprised at how unstable the ride felt. Lux was sure Alan didn't notice anything; he was probably used to it. She, on the other hand, was used to technology that ran much smoother. She still hid the device behind her back, surprised that he hadn't noticed it yet. She looked down at her own clothing, actually realizing for the first time that it was strange in comparison. She had no clue why he wasn't questioning it. Then again, maybe he was. "Thanks. I appreciate that." She considered adding more, but decided that oversharing was probably a poor choice.
-
He did notice that she was hiding something from him, but then again he didn't feel like prying. "My crazy ex left some of her clothes at my apartment and they'd probably fit, you look almost the same size as her." the elevator stopped on the second floor and the doors slid open again, causing Alan to proceed out and down the hall a ways before searching his pockets, slightly complaining about his key not wanting to come out of his pocket until he finally got it. He unlocked the door and opened it, revealing a open room with a small couch, a tv, a small kitchen and screens seperating the rooms. But the most beautiful thing about the room was the artwork that was everywhere and the large bay window. "Sorry it's a mess." he walked in and went behind a screen. "Close the door when you get in. I'll have you some clothes in a second."
-
She followed him down the hallway and stepped into the room, looking around cautiously before shutting the door. The first thing that caught her eye was the massive window. Most underwater structures contained very few windows, due to potential danger and the expense of upkeep. A window like this was fascinating, and she immediately walked over to it to peer outside. The view of the city was impressive, and suddenly, she understood why people lived above the surface.
However, Lux also felt very homesick. At that moment, the device started beeping quietly, and she fiddled with the buttons until it seemed to shut off. Unsure of what to do with it, she hid it behind his couch. By the time he returned, she was staring out the window again, amazed at how far she could see. -
He walked out from behind the screen and walked up next to her with a pair of jeans and a blue shirt. "You know I bought the place because of the view." he held out the clothes to her as when he started to walk to the couch. "You can go behind any screens, they really are just used to seperate the room so..yeah. It doesn't matter." sitting down, he grabbed the tv remote and turned it on, a random cartoon show was on.
-
"Thanks," she replied, taking the clothes. She walked behind one of the screens, setting down the clothing and fidgeting with the band on her wrist. Lux wasn't exactly sure what to do about the fact that she really had no undergarments. The prison garment had taken their place, as well as the place of normal clothing, for years, and was effective in concealing what little cleavage she had already. She eventually figured out a way to modify the system so that the artificial suit covered her where necessary. Suddenly cold without it covering most of her body, she quickly put on the shirt and pants, feeling strange about wearing actual clothing for the first time in a while. The shirt definitely felt a bit awkward and she did her best to make it work, but the jeans fit well.
Lux walked out from behind the screen and tentatively sat down on the other end of the couch, unsure of what to do next. It felt like she was lying, which she technically was, but there was no way she'd actually tell him about her situation. -
He glanced over at her and smiled a bit. "Huh I guess I was right, the shirt is a bit loose, but that's alright." he looked back at the tv and suddenly felt the awkward silence that filled the room aside from the tv blaring. "Uh...so what are you here for anyways? I mean you weren't in that park for just any reason just with what you had on outside. Unless you were at a party." he chuckled. "Sorry it's just it's the middle of the fall and it's cold.." he paused when he heard his stomach growl causing him to blush a bit. "Sounds like I need to get something to eat.."he stood up and glanced back. "Need anything?"
-
"That's also a long story," she replied quickly, not looking forward to explaining. Out of an old habit, she pulled her legs up onto the couch and played with the hem of the jeans. Lux hadn't been able to do this for a few years, and the feeling was incredibly relaxing. The couch wasn't at all like what she was used to, but it was comfortable in a slightly worn sort of way. She watched as he stood and walked into the kitchen, then turned her attention to the TV. "No thank you," she answered.
-
He blinked slowly and sighed. "Okay then..." he walked into the kitchen and searched for something quick and easy to eat, which he just settled on making hamburgers since he already had too much ground beef anyways. He made the patties and placed them on the pan, watching them sizzle slowly and feeling that pregnant silence fill the air again. It was awkward really, but he hoped something would start a conversation. He glanced over for a second at the tv.
-
"You said you had a roommate, right?" she eventually asked, making something up on the spot. She wasn't entirely sure if she remembered correctly or not, but it'd be nice to have confirmation on the fact, and to prepare for another person showing up. She still didn't feel comfortable just sitting, she wanted to be doing something. She'd never exactly been used to free time.
-
He stopped for a moment. "No, this flat has room for usually only one person with limited money. I did however have a freeloading ex that left most of her stuff here, but that's about it." he chuckled. "Though most of my stuff is actually in a storage locker, but I don't mind." he finished making his food and went back to the couch, sitting down carefully. "So...gonna explain anything about yourself? I know you might just be staying here for a bit, but I'm just interested."

as it is youre just trapping the both of you in an awkward and boring domestic scene
k thx bye)) -
"Oh." That was convenient and awkward at the same time. It would only be the two of them, which meant that she only had to hide her secret from one person, but it also meant that all of his time would probably be spent trying to be a decent host, whether he knew it or not. She looked out the window again, then at the TV, then at him.
"Well, I live on the other side of the country, and this is my first time away from home. I practically live for engineering, and came here to help with a project. Unfortunately, my colleagues fell through, and I lost everything I'd brought with me on the way." It was a decent enough story. It was technically true, but not the whole truth. Then again, she wasn't really opposed to lying in this situation. She would if she had to. -
(what I do with my soap is my doing. Personally I'm not the person to rush a relationship in a soap. It's stupid and gets over too quickly. Unless Pine wants me to be a dick and ruin a good and slow realtionship I won't.)
He chuckled lightly. "Sorry that was an awkward question, but I was just curious." he took a bite out of his burger. "That's cool really, I've only lived in this state most of my life, but I always wanted to explore outside of here." he thought for a moment. "That...actually kinda sounds sad. Maybe I could help you somehow." he grinned. "Yeah that's what I'm gonna do. I want to help you however I can."
