Matt pulled his hand back and shrugged, looking to the boy, observing him before responding. "I'm Matt Sampson. Explorer, and a chaser of artifacts. Who are you?" he said to the boy. Matt put his hands in his pockets as he stood there, awaiting a response from him. Syatibg with a blank expression in his face.
-
Okay)
-
Jay gave the man, Matt, a sidelong glance before rolling his eyes. "Jay." He says simply, not turning around, continuing to pick up his finds. "So I'm guessing you're looking for the Bound. Here's a piece of an advice from a local. Just give up, hundreds have tried, what makes you different? Nothing, so I suggest you get on your way." He said tiredly, straightening up.
-
Matt grunted slightly to himself as he kept watching the boy pick up his items. "The thing that makes me different? Would be that my old man, my dad, was an explorer. He does before looking for the bound around here somewhere. I can feel him around, in me. Ill find this artifact." he said to the boy in a calm voice as he went back to observing the walls.
-
Jay just shook his head at the man, he was no different than the others. But, this man obviously had to have some kind of money and he could probably make a deal, get some profit out of it even if the man didn't find the Bound. He turned to face the man again, hands on his hips. "Alright, fine. But it's going to take you years to search all the caves around here by yourself. Lucky for you, I'm willingly to help you out."
-
Matt glanced over to the boy, Jay, as he heard him say he may help him. Help is good. And it would help narrow some things. He seems as if he's been searching these caves himself. Seems reasonable. he thought, turning back to the boy. "What would it cost for your help?" he asked the boy in a calm voice, staring at him, a bit interested knowing he wouldn't do it for free.
-
Jay thought it over for a bit, what did he want exactly? "How about 100 up front. And then we'll see about later payment."He wondered if this man was actually take the deal, he was only a kid as most would say. But maybe this man would see past that and that Jay would make a very good guide, if he had any actual sense that is.
-
Matt put a hand on his chin thinking about the offer. It was only 100 upfront for the time, he could possibly find an easy way to make up for it. If he did find the Bound, it would be worth it however. It's a good deal he gives me. he thought to himself. "Sure thing." He said as he reached into his pocket and grabbed his wallet out. He looked around in it and pulled out a 100 dollar bill and held it out to the boy. "Here you go, Jay, was it?" he said.
-
Jay stared at the money for a moment before taking it, hoping he didn't actually snatch it out of the man's hands. He nods, shoving the money in his pocket. "We had better get out of here before high tide comes along." He adjusts his pack before beckoning with his head, and heading out of the cave.
-
Matt nodded his head to the boy as he took one last look to the walls of the cave before following the boy out of the cave. Hopefully he had made a wise decision to trust the boy, he felt he could a bit but was not sure exactly. The last person he trusted like this ended up turning against him in the end. "Say, boy, Jay. You need a ride somewhere, possibly? My car is nearby." he asked the boy as they neared the entrance.
-
Jay looked at the man, Matt he reminded himself, in surprise. He quickly masked it, and for a second he actually considered before shaking his head. "I've got my bike, I'm good." He mentally scolded himself, 'Don't go start trusting him, idiot. It's only going to end badly.'. He noticed that the sun was setting and his eyes widened, "I've g-got to go! I'll meet you at Seaside Cafe, at noon tomorrow to discuss what you want to do." With that he sprinted off, he was going to be in a load of trouble -and possibly pain- if he broke curfew.
-
Matt nodded his head as he started to go back to where he had left his car. "Ill see you there." he called out the the boy as he disappeared into the trees. After a bit of walking, he came to his car and quickly got into it."Now to find a hotel or an inn to stay in." he said as he pulled out the map and looked it over, looking for any inns on it. He crunk his car up, and backed away into the road after finding one.
-
'I'm so screwed...C'mon!' Jay was freaking out, pedaling as fast as he could, breaking curfew was a big no for his aunt and uncle. It was an even bigger no, when it applied to him. "Maybe I can just call them and say I was helping Au-Ms. May at the Cafe and that I'll sleep there tonight?" He muttered under his breathe but he knew it would do no good, he didn't want to burden the lady. Luckily for him, he caught sight of his aunt and uncle's house, chest heaving with relief as he pulled into the driveway.

Thought I had responded before)
Matt started down the road headed back east to an inn he had spotted on the map in his Chevelle. He kept at a fast pace in his car wanting to get there in case they close early on days. After a bit of driving though, it had come into view, a smile on his face as he approached it and pulled up. It was at a halfway house from the cafe he started at and the caves, a perfect area for him to stay at for his stay here.
