OH MAN THIS PLOT IS SO LONG I can never summarize my thoughts easily, sorry guys. Preferably with someone I know, or with someone who I can see is experienced.
C1 has always loved the art of public radio. From music to talkshows, something about the concept of such a medium has enthralled them. Which is why, as soon as they became acquainted with their college and its programs, they signed up to work on one of the campus's radio stations. Excited and full of optimism, they took the one job available-- managing the entirety of a station dedicated to [boring subject] and produced for the sake of its only listener, a retired professor. Disappointed, C1 immediately knew there were plenty of more interesting subjects to broadcast. Unfortunately, their college thought differently, and threatened to shut down the station completely due to budgets.
C2, on the other hand, has been nothing short of successful. A senior, they quickly moved up the radio ranks and became the leading host of the college's most popular station. While this position has helped them gain a fair amount of popularity, their true claim to fame is the fact that their parents met at the school and that their mother eventually became the dean. Dean [C2's surname] and her husband both believe that their child is depressed, trying to hide in the world of radio to avoid their issues. Whether it's true or not, the dean refuses to help her child move away until they prove that they're actually enjoying life and the college experience.
It doesn't take long for C1 to find out about C2's popularity. They enviously confront their upperclassman, looking for help with boosting their station's popularity. C2 agrees, but not without getting something in return. In exchange for promoting the station and advertising it, they make C1 agree to be in a fake relationship with them, agreeing to "break up" just before graduation. C2's parents will see their child "happy" (and therefore help them move away), and C1's station will actually succeed. At least, that's the plan until the two radio hosts start to consider a different type of partnership.
I'm cool with being either character. -
