True. Alright))
Roslyn nodded as she looked up at Umbra. "Umbra, how long do you think it would take for us to reach land?" Roslyn asked curiously hoping it would take days maybe even a month. As long as it took that long in between that time frame. She wanted to understand how the ship works properly and get to know the crew better. Her stomach growled lowly but she completely ignored it. The growling of her stomach was nothing compared to her time period of running away from her pitiful family. -
Umbra closed his eyes them opened them upon the sea ahead of the ship, thinking. "At the most, two days now until we hit land at this rate we are going." he turned towards Roslyn"Why do you ask?" curious as to why she had asked. He knew until they hit land was not far off from the current time, and that more than likely they would hit land by the next days nightfall, possibly, but could be off. He went back into thought, thinking about how long it would be again, waiting for a reply.
-
"Well, I may die soon and it's been so on my mind for the longest. This crew and ship is the closest thing I have to enjoying the last few days in this world. I just wanted to understand the ship and crew better, that's all." Roslyn spoke honestly as she stood. "OK, now I get a gist of your adventures. Tell me something that you like or dislike. Either is fine." Roslyn said to only get to know Umbra better.
-
"I guess I can understand that, you will soon depart to the next area after life soon, possibly. " Umbra said looking at her with his eyes open. "Some things that I like, huh? Well, it's obvious I like the sea. Aside from that, I like people who are able to take care and defend themselves from people who may harm them somehow. Its like they know life has risks, and if you do not defend you are giving in to the forces around you, letting them take you as their own and control you, in a way. Depends on how you see it." he said as he thought about it.
-
Roslyn nodded with a faint grin. "Yes, I agree. Some people seem to give in to easily. Give into the hands of evil. Although, some people are capable of eliminating those evil beings in the world" Roslyn said sighing. "It's what I believe assassins are for, killing evil. Though from what I have heard I don't know what to think of them."
-
Umbra nodded, agreeing to her words. "They do, some anyway, give in too easy before they even try." Umbra stared up to the sky, and the bird's flying overhead. "Assassins do kill evil, but sometimes we seem to kill the good in our attempts." He reached over to her, placing a hand on her shoulder. "Do not go always by what you hear, sometimes it is better to see, for words can be lies, but if you see it with your own two eyes, how can it be a lie?" he said smiling a bit.
-
"I believe that assassins are like any regular being with a rough past and a heart of steel. Though from this point of you for you, I believe you're a caring and nice guy. Just with a rough path and you only kill the evil beings in the world." Roslyn said grinning softly. She looked over at him and spoke once more. "Is there any questions would you like to ask me?"
-
Umbra smiled as he listened to her words and looked at her. He nodded his head as he went into a bit of thought. "Lets see.." he said quietly. "Quite simple or complex, but, if I may ask, What are your fears? What do you fear the most about life as of right now?" he asked after a moment of thinking. He stared at her as he awaited a response.
-
"My fears as of right now? Hm, dying and the near future." Roslyn said honestly. "I guess that I'm not ready for death or what is held awaiting for me in the future. As long as I'm safe and sound I don't care much if I am hurt. I just want to like like an normal adult." Roslyn sighed as she closed her eyes feeling the small breeze.
-
Umbra closed his eyes. "Understandable, I may say. It seems to be something we all fear to be honest, most anyway, just some don't admit to it. Death comes to us all though and the future is a mystery to all." He said opening his eyes and looking at her. "You care for your safety and how you are perceived alot, no? Makes sense." he said.
-
Roslyn nodded as she sighed thinking of her death. Her death might be soon as she reopened her eyes. Staring at the crew whom had decided to due a bit of work or to relax on the upper deck. These people might die any day now. Yet again they are up for the risk of their lives. Unlike me I could die from the time distance of now and then. I wonder what I could do from now and then. Roslyn thought with a slight frown.
-
"I see" Umbra said leaning back again looking to the sky once more. We all have to die someday, as I said. Wonder how long exactly I have until my day comes. Stop with that, just Thu no of now, try not to worry about the future, nothing I can do to change it. He thought in his head with a sigh, turning back and looking at Roslyn. "Why the face, rose?" he asked.
-
"Well, since I may die in just a few days I've realized that I have done nothing with my life. All I have done was grow flowers and suffer in the sorrow of my path. Unlike you instead of suffering or even showing the sign of suffering from sorrow you move on and have an adventurous life. My life is pitiful compared to yours. In a way my mother was right. A waste of time and space." Roslyn sighed as she felt the emptiness the day everything began of her abuse. Closing her eyes for a moment she shook it off. "Ah, never mind it's just a silly feeling I should have gotten rid of long ago. Just forget it my past isn't as bad as others. " Roslyn said as she walked her way to the railings of the ship. She rested her arms on the railings and stared out at the sea. Roslyn had now shared the same passion for the sea.
-
Umbra shook his head as she finished speaking, listening to every word she said to him. After a few moments, he walked over to where she was at the railings, standing a few feet back. "Roslyn, you and your life are not a waste oftime and space as you said, no one ever is. You've suffered from your past, which seem to still haunt you now. It is a fear of yours as well, it seems." Umbra walked up beside Roslyn, and turned to her. "Listen to me, do not let it get to you, let it make you a stronger and better person. Do not let your past hinder you abilities, you are capable and able to do many things in this life. I know It. Maybe your past is not the worst ever, but still it is a past. I'm not saying to forget about it, but to let it make you better and stronger at will." he said as he closed his eyes and sighed.
-
Roslyn nodded at his words and smiled faintly. "Thank you for the kind words. Umbra like I said you're a really nice fella." Roslyn stared off into the distance and closed her eyes thinking.
