Safire looks up at the sky and sighs. If this is all life has to offer she accepts it. She never had much in the first place. She glances at a bench. "Jax do you want to sit over there for now? she suggest to her friend.

Jax stood under a tall pine tree knocking his foot against the ground and staring to the ground. As he heard the voice of Saphire he looks to her "sure. It will be better than standing here doing nothing," he responded.

Alright, hey cheer up man I brought you some cookies, Safire says while walking over to the bench. She takes out a small bag from her pants pocket. It contains three chocolate chip cookies. Here, she says handing it to Jax, I baked them this morning,"

"Sure, I'll try to. "Jax says as he follows Saphire to the bench. "Thanks," Jax says as he took the bag and looks inside. "Do you want some of them?" he asks as he looks to her before taking a seat on the bench.

Saphire gazes into her friends eyes. "Nope I made them for you." she looks down at the floor. She spots a colony of ants passing by. "Hey do you think the doctor's can cure..." she doesn't finish her sentence. "Never mind," she says.

Jax looks to his friend"I insist, have one." he says handing one out. He heard her speak as he looks down to the ground "I don't know, maybe " he says quietly as hes starts thinking about it

Saphire takes a cookie. "Thanks Jax," her eyes tear up a little but she wipes them away. "All I want is for you to be happy, some thing I can never be," she starts to sob. She looks up at the sky once more. In the distance birds are chirping and people are laughing.

Jax smiles a bit"you're welcome" he says as he looks to her. "Don't cry, I don't like to see people cry," he says. He puts his hand on his friends shoulder"i am happy though, and you can be too." he says looking to the ant mound below.
