"I'll call her Brownie" -
"Hm, I just remembered," She tugged on the hair lightly, getting him moving. "That's someone else's horse, but I don't think the guys keep track."

"Finders keepers."

"Ah, but we're not there yet." Oliver had been going at a good pace now, just a little faster than a trot. -
"So how long have you been the head of the rebels?"

"I'd say almost two years now. I'm sure I told you that after my dad passed, the second in command took over. He said that if anything were to happen to him, that I should take over, but I was still very young at the time, so this guy Jackson took over until they thought I was old enough. I'm glad he was there, because he was never one of the guys that hit on me. He was more of a fatherly figure."

Jade was quiet for a moment, deciding her next words. "Your father, he was never truly a father to you?"

"The moment you're born, you have to race against your siblings to earn your father's love,that's why we go to war, not because we want to conquer but because that's what father wants and we want to fullfill his wished to earn the love we so desire."

"I never tried to earn his love, when I counquered some place ait wasn't for him."

"Hm, okay." There was a slight breeze in the air that pushed her hair back. She took a deep breath, the scents of earth coming along. "Is there anything you'd like to know about me?"
