"What I wanted was to talk, not fight, it still isn't"
He was still holding her hand so that she didn't try to reach the sword, he suddenly realised foot steps getting dangerously close, he draged the girl and himself to a cabin, it was rather tight for them both, in fact it was so tight that it was hard for them both to breath at the same time, the guards searched the area, they Assumed the horse was bought for the prince so they didn't bother reporting it and left. -
"If you want information for your father about our leader or plans, to bad. He can wait until it is too late for him." She said trying to meet his gaze. He had to have been at least four inches taller than her, maybe six, but she was used to feeling short compared to others. "Now, if you don't mind, I'd like to leave as soon as those guards leave."
-
He knew he was gonna regret this the first moment he got back to his senses.
"I'm not my father lady and to prove it I can show you a short cut through the walls"
He said looking directly into her eyes.
He didn't know why he offered help even though this girl got on his nerves but something about her made him want to help. -
"And how do I know this isn't a trap?" The offer almost seemed too good to be true, but something in the way he said it made her believe it was the truth. "Besides, I better be on my way soon."
-
Dante thought of a way for her to trust him, they waited at the small cabinet until the guard left, Dante was feeling her breath touch his neck. He got her sword and gave it to her and pointed the sharp edge to his throat.
"You know what to do if I call for help or something" he said with confidence. -
She almost wanted to smile at his idiocy, but kept her face neutral. "That will do," She said, adjusting her fingers before bringing the hilt down. "But I can always keep an eye out." She ran a hand through her hair, pushing it out of her face. "Lead the way, then."
-
Dante realised he was staring at her, he came back to his sense and lead her to the secret path that lead outside the walls.
-
Jade glanced up in time to catch his eye as he looked away. She followed him, giving the horse one last glance. Her sword was custom made, especially for her small, delicate fingers which fit perfectly when she grasped the hilt. "I don't suppose you have anything to ask or tell me." She stated rather than asking.
-
Dante was counting the guard towers, he went left from the sixth tower and entered the other sixth from the right.
"Ask or tell you anything certain? No I don't have anything certain to say nor to ask unless you do." That of course was a lie, he had many things to ask to this rebel girl but he had the feeling that he would have a more appopriate time to ask so he didn't bother asking any. -
She observed her surroundings, swinging the sword lightly, back and forth. "Very well then." She said. It was darker outside, almost night time. At the headquarters, she wondered if anyone would notice she hadn't come back yet, but then again, there were only so many people that worked with the rebellion.
-
Dante looked at the towers walls, the walls were covered in animal figures.
He pressed the tip of his finger to the snakes teeth until a little blood came out, he spread some of the blood to the lions torso and at last used one of his knives and stabed the dragon in the mouth than turned it right, right, left and took the knife out.
A staircase downwards opened. He gave the girl a torch.
"We go down the underground tunnels" he said -
She took the torch from him, her fingers brushing his in the process. She gulped, looking past him. "So where exactly are you leading me to?" She asked, curiously. She felt almost like a child waiting for adventure. Maybe it was her size, or just the feeling of reminisce.
-
"If used correctly the tunnels can take you to anywhere in a very small time, anywhere you wanna head?" He said trying to draw a route on his mind.
-
Jade thought for a moment before responding. "I really should go to the headquarters, but I guess I'll go home for tonight, then check in tomorrow. I live on the outer skirts of the town, towards the east. Oh, and what about my horse?" She asked suddenly, at the thought of Oliver.
-
The tunnels were too small for the horse, this could've been an problem but...
"I'll bring him to you tomorrow but first lets get you to the outerskirts at the easy where your home is" he said also trying to remember the info.
