(guess what i'm watching
probably his grandpa's horse or something so it gets a baked goods name)
"Can you wait?" he asked. This really wasn't the time, but Rowan left the group, heading out into the trees. As they left, one of the knights shouted something, being much more straightforward than Harkwell had been. Rowan let out a frustrated sigh, and helped her off when they were far enough away. He stood there, watching her awkwardly for a minute before realizing that she'd probably need her hands untied again. -
(Mean Girls?
probs xD)
Octavia stood still for a moment, raising an eyebrow. "I uh.. Untie my hands? And turn around? I wont go anywhere. But it's.. It's not right to watch," She muttered, biting her lips, focusing on her boots. They came up to her knees, and had steady heels. She wondered how many bones she could break if she stomped on Rowan's foot. "..You haven't taken care of your arm, either. Do you have a rag? I can wrap it for you?" Mostly, she wanted to stay away from the other men for as long as possible. -
(some of the old disney movies that made me think teenager = instant cool
well actually now i'm watching the x-files but)
"I'll look while you-- you really don't like them, do you?" he asked as he untied her, then went to find something to wrap his arm with. He wasn't worried about her running off, since he'd be much faster on Shortbread and catch up to her easily. By the time she'd finished, he'd found something she could use. He wasn't exactly eager to return to their teasing, either. -
(oh but Mean Girls is better)
"They're rude," She agreed, doing what she needed to. When he returned, she was tucking her blouse back into her shirt. Octavia took the rag he had brought her, wetting it with water from the canteen. Biting her lip, she cleaned the cut the best she could, and wrapped it. "You might need stitches," She admitted, slightly proud that she had bee able to do any damage at all. -
(i know but i watched mean girls recently)
He shrugged. "Yeah, I know. Trust me, they aren't all like that, though. We're not allowed to marry or be married while serving as knights, and that rule creates some knights that act like... well." He gestured in the direction they'd come from. He inspected the work she'd done and thanked her with a smile. This time, he didn't bother to bind her wrists, and instead chose just to help her up onto the horse. -
(yaaaay)
Octavia gave him a small hum of thanks, weaving her fingers into the horse's mane after fixing her skirt. "Do you know if I'll be staying with you? Not that I'm not sure that some of them aren't trustworthy, but.. Oh, you know," She sighed, closing her eyes. "Are we going to your kingdom?" -
(the x-files are so good omg)
"I'm guessing that you'll probably be in the dungeons. I have no idea, though." They took their time to return to the path, hoping she wouldn't have to deal with any more unpleasant knights. "But you're right to assume that some of them really aren't trustworthy. The blonde one, Harkwell? Avoid him. Try to stay away from him completely, never let him find you alone. And the big one is fine. He's probably one of the safest in the group, if not the safest." -
(never seen um)
"Dungeons? Where they keep criminals? I think not," She huffed, pressing close to him as soon as the others came into view. Octavia nodded at his suggestion, focusing on Harkwell for a moment. He did seem to have that look about him. "Are you saying that you're not trustworthy? You seem to be." -
(Okay for some reason I keep imagining Rowan looking a lot like Nick Petricca which is kinda bad because it means that his hips are p much the center of the universe??)
"They're just one of the most guarded parts of the castle. Then again, he'll probably assign you your own guard...," he said, trailing off as he realized that he would probably fill the role. Rowan froze as she pressed closer to him, realizing that she actually trusted him, at least more than the other knights. He paused, trying to figure out how to answer her question. He knew he wouldn't hurt or lie to her, but at the same time, he'd been stealing from the king for years. Then again, all of his stealing had been for a purpose that he felt equalled everything out, morally. "You can trust me, Princee Octavia." -
(oh wow yes??)
"I'd prefer not to have to sleep on a wooden plank. Or, underground, for that matter. I can't stand being underground. When I was young, me and one of the maid's daughter's used to play in the tunnels under the castle. One caved in, and she got trapped. And.. And I think she died, later, of injuries." Octavia trailed off towards the end, sighing. She nodded at Rowan's assurance. "Do you think you'll be assigned to me? I'd prefer if you were. At least, I sort of know you." -
(Rowan is nick petricca but with curly floof and younger. Okay but those hips live oh man)
"I'll do what I can, for both of those." By now, they were out of the woods and heading though a tiny village, the brightly illuminated castle looming in the distance. Something was happening ahead of them between a knight and a peasant. A quarrel had broken out, and the knight clearly had the advantage. Rowan let out an angry sigh at the scene, then watched as another quickly pulled his colleague away from the skirmish. They were so immature sometimes. -
(awesome owo)
"Have you heard anything about my parents?" Octavia watched the fight, frowning at it. The knights she knew, at least the ones in the royal guard, were all men of good moral. Once again, she wished Henry was at her side. She also wanted for her horse, so she wouldn't be so high up. Or uncomfortable. Shortbread was kind enough, but he was wide, and her legs were starting to hurt. "Do you think I could get off and walk for a bit? I can keep up. But this is growing uncomfortable." She was aware of the blouse sticking to her skin, and wondered if she would be able to change clothes at some point. -
(I died. I still have pics. I die when I look at them)
"I'm sorry. I'm sure we'll know by tomorrow. And no, can you wait a few minutes? We're almost there anyways." The bridge on the east side of the castle lowered, and the group crossed the moat. Servants came out to help the knights with their horses so that they could quickly report back to the king. As Rowan rode in, he had to call over a servant, then explained the situation. As Rowan helped Princess Octavia off, Shortbread seemed hesitant to return to the stables with an unfamiliar person. But after a moment of quiet reassurance, he had much less trouble leaving Rowan behind. -
(yes let me see)
Octavia pouted a bit, but fell silent after that. When she was allowed off the horse, she left Rowan, walking a couple yards away, before circling back, stretching her arms and legs. "Well. I'm sore. It's your fault, you know. If I have blisters.. Hn." She was getting sleepy, and with that, whiny. Tired, and bored, Octavia strolled back over to Rowan, wrapped her arms around his chest, and leaned into him, closing her eyes. "I need to rest. I've been up all night," She muttered, yawning, as if to prove it. "And I need a bath.. But I want to sleep, first." -
(You're on Kik yeah? I'm neonpine)
"We should head in--" He tensed up, his hands and shoulders raising in a very hesitant way. Her affection wasn't what was bothering him, but rather the way some of the knights and servants were watching them. They were probably wondering what he'd done to get a girl to follow him back to the castle, especially such a pretty one. Hoping that she couldn't hear his heartbeat, which was beating almost twice as fast, while her head was on his chest, he eventually removed himself from her embrace and nodded toward the castle. "W-we should head inside."
