I need help so I can do rp correctly
-
So, er, what do you want to know?
-
What to say. And the way to type it
-
Well, I usually make my characters respond and react the way I would in that situation. Of course, I have to respond within the rules of the universe I'm in. So, if griffons and dragons are the norm, and my character, let's say his name is Sven, is a native, he wouldn't say,
"Oh my god! That's a dragon! Those don't exist!"
Instead, he would probably say,
"Yeah, I use to own a dragon, but it became too big, and my father killed it."
If you had seen any of the soaps/rps I've been in, I use the... Story type? Anyways, depending on who you're rping/soaping with, you will either use Ex1:
Sven jumped away from the crazed girl. "Don't scare me!" He yelled.
Or, Ex2:
Sven:*Sees crazy girl and jumps away* Don't scare me!
Or, if you've seen the way Kat Rps, she uses a mix of the two abouve, something like:
*Jumps away* "Don't scare me!" Sven yells at her.
Or something like that.
Anyways, it depends on how the person wants their soap/rp to be played.
Also, I've seen this a little in a rp you joined. When people talk about the rp, but not in character, they use these: ()
Example:
(Dude, is it okay if my character and yours are related?)
Sven jumped away from Chris's energy blast, and counterattacked with his katana.
I usually use them as ()) instead of (), but that's just me.
Spelling is also a good thing. I understand some people have adhd/other, but it's always good to double check what you've written, just to make sure you haven't written 'dicked' instead of 'ducked', because that's embarrassing.
Sorry if I missed something, or if I haven't explained something properly. I'm far from the best soaper, but I hope you got some use out of this. -
I could aid.
