i am an impatient potato I am sorry
"I told you the AP wouldn't approve his costume," Cadence huffed, shifting his books to his other arm. It was too warm to be walking home, but he was doing it, as he hadn't wanted to call his boyfriend to come get him. And, anyways, the head of his costume department was walking home too, and he had to talk to her anyways. "We'll have to get his sizes again, and go to some thrift stores. Maybe this weekend? I don't have plans, but I'll still have to check with Alturo. Is that good?" The girl nodded. She was a Freshman, and Cadence loved her to death, but he knew he could be a little intimidating sometimes. Too talkative, as others put it.
Ruffling the girl's short hair, Cadence leaned down to kiss her cheek the way a brother might, before waving her off. He could see Alturo from the porch, but said nothing, as the man couldn't see him yet. He sat his stuff down, going around the back of the couch. Without a second thought, he heaved himself over the side, landing half on Alturo, half in the crack of the couch. -
Alturo had his eyes closed, his long eyelashes laying on his skin. He gasped and snapped his eyes open when he felt someone fall onto him. He then realized it was his boyfriend, and relaxed a little. A little. The little one had only been home for a minute, bur the older could already feel the anger bubbling up inside him. Through clenched teeth, he said, "Hey, baby. Did you have a good day at school?" Alturo normally spoke to Candence as if he were a first grader, but it helped him somwhat when he was angry at him. He loved hearing his boyfriend talk, but whenever he spoke too much, he would get angry.
-
"I did," He hummed, snuggling into his side. He pressed a kiss to his boyfriend's cheek, falling silent for a moment. When he spoke, it came out in a rush, trying to get the words out as quick as possible. "We're having a problem with the play. The main character's costume, the AP said we couldn't use it. So we have to go look for other stuff, but I really don't have time during the week, and the play is coming so soon, and.. Anyways, can I go with Alice to get stuff this weekend?"
-
Alturo wrapped one arm around his boyfriend, smiling when he got a kiss on the cheek. Alturo tried his best to listen as his boyfriend spit out words quickly. He took a deep breath, the arm around his boyfriend tightening. It felt like it always did when he lost control, it felt like he could only sit there and watch. When his boyfriend was done, Alturo glared at him, using the arm wrapped around him to grab the little one's wrist tightly. "Well well, you little s---. Why cant you just talk slower? Or ask me how my day was? Why couldnt you get someone else to do it? Huh, punk?" His hand tightened around the bone's in the younger's wrist.
-
At first, everything was fine. But then Alturo started snapping, and Cadence squirmed a little in the tight hold, closing his eyes. "Hey, calm down, baby," He sighed, trying to keep himself from freaking out, because that would only make things worse. "I'm sorry. I just wanted to make sure it was okay, so I can let Alice go. I'm sorry. How was your day? Can you please let go of my wrist?" He kept his voice level, and didn't bother trying to pull away, as Alturo was almost as twice as strong as he was.
-
At the sound of the youger's voice, Alturo calmed down a little, slowly letting go of his tight hold on the little one's wrist. He brushed his thumb gently across the red mark he had made, frowning. "..I'm sorry, Cadence. I didn't mean to. My day was fine. Mostly worked on some interior of houses, as always. No classes today.." He murmed, trying to erase the red mark with his thumb as of it was never there. "You can go. What do you want for dinner? We can order pizza, go out.."
-
When Alturo let go, Cadence relaxed back into his hold, moving to give him a short kiss on his lips. "It's fine. Um.. I have homework, but I can cook, if you wanna run to town and pick up a couple things? Or we could do pizza and a couple movies, and I could just do my homework later?" He favored the second suggestion, though it meant staying up later. That would work, though. Their house was designed for late nights, with a study a good distance away from the bedroom.
-
Alturo smiled at the kiss, giving him a small peck back. "Mm, the second one sounds good." He stood up, picking the younger up in his arms as he did so. He smirked down at his boyfriend, using his other hand to pick up his school stuff. The door was already cracked open, so all Alturo had to do was push hisway in. From the door, you could see the stairs that were straight ahead and an open kitchen on the left with the living room on the right. The study and bedrooms were upstairs. Alturo sat his boyfriend down on the large, black leather couch and turned the flat screen on, picking up the phone. "What kind do you want, baby?"
-
"Mm.. Pepperoni, with cheese-stuffed crust. And.. Bread sticks? Is that okay? Unless you want something different," He offered, removing his shoes, tossing the into the corner with his books. He settled back into the couch, closing his eyes. He really did love their house, but it wouldn't mean anything if Alturo wasn't in it. He was probably the best thing that had ever happened to him.
-
"Mm, that's fine. Anything for you," he said with a smiled, ruffling his boyfriend's hair before walking into the kitchen with his phone. He sat on a stool at the bar they sat at to eat, humming as the phone rang. He ordered everything his boyfriend had asked for, along with a two liter soda. He hung up the phone, getting up and setting some money beside the door so they would be ready when the pizza came. Alturo then sat down on the couch beside the younger, turning on the news.
-
Cadence snuggled into his side when he returned, taking one of his hands in one of his own. He was silent until a commercial came on, and then he filled the air with a small hum, followed by, "You're coming to the play, right? It's the weekend after this weekend. And I just want to make sure, so I can grab you a ticket and a backstage pass. It's okay if you can't come." Before Alturo answered, Cadence was taking again, excited, squirming in his seat. "A recruiter from one of the big name universities is coming to see it! Can you believe it? I hope it goes perfectly, I could seriously use a scholarship. It's out of state, though. But it's a full ride! Dorm and everything. I doubt I'll get it though, this play is my first production, after all. And the cast isn't even very good. I wish Shasta hadn't dropped out. We could have used him," He finished wish a sigh, shaking his head.
-
Alturo closed his eyes, not really hearing anything his boyfriend had said. It all came out as a high, annoying humming sound. His grip on the hand he was holding tightened as the younger kept on talking. Alturo was pratically steaming once he was finished. "You need to learn to shut your mouth." He opened his eyes, his other hand grabbing his boyfriend by the throat. It wasent tight enough so he was choking Candence, but pretty tight all the same. "That's all I hear from you, you selfish s---. Me, me, me."
-
He was startled by the sudden movement, and used his free hand to try to pull Alturo's hand off his neck. It was harder to stay calm when he got really mad like this, and he panicked a little, tears pricking at his eyes. He really hated how easy it was to piss him off, how he had to constantly watch what he said, how much he said, how and when he said it. And he had forgotten this time.
In an attempt to get him to stop, Cadence gave a weak, "Please let go," Knowing that it would still be a while until the pizza showed up. -
Being a lot stronger than his boyfriend, the hand at his small neck didn't budge. Alturo's pure black hair fell into his sharp blue eyes, covering some of his view but not stopping him. "I'm so sick of you're little mouth. You're what's ruining this relationship!" That was far from the truth.
-
He closed his eyes, giving up on getting away from him. A few tears slipped down, and his breath started coming in little sobs. Of course, this wasn't helping the situation any, as, normally, tears just made Alturo madder. Normally, it never got bad enough that he really harmed Cadence, but he knew that a bruise on his neck would be hard to explain, and he couldn't wear a turtle neck during spring. He continued to weakly plead Alturo to let him go.
