Rex made his way to his father's throne room. Rumors spread that the king was dead in the kingdom. He was accompanied by his royal guards.

"Rex, are you sure you want to go in there?" Lenix asked.

" Yes, I'm sure. If something has happened to my father I must know." Rex pushed open the doors.

"Rex! Wait! No!" Lenix called. She would hate to see Rex's face expression because that the rumors are true.

Take out the "that" in that sentence.

Rex halted halfway through the doors. He looked back at Lenix. " Why should I stop? I must ensure the kings condition, you know that."

"BUT THE KING DIED LAST NIGHT!" She covered her mouth. "I'm so sorry..."

He walked up to her " If what you say is true, then it is up to me to take his position as king. I have a duty to protect the Shadow Kingdom, so do you."

"Yes, but you need a soul mate. I will look." Lenix left the kingdom.

Rex entered the throne room. The king laid cold in black blood. Rex fell to his knees". Father...Father! I promise you.. I promise I'll get revenge, I'll do my best yo serve our people." * cries*

"Don't cry Rex." Lenix said before she officially left. Then she stopped. "Do you want me to stay then wait after you feel better?"

Rex looked up at her. Anger filled his eyes." Do what you think is best for the kingdom. We put the kingdom before ourselves. Remember this young knight Lenix. "

"I'm sorry, but I have to stay with you. Women can wait."
