A soap is with actions and you don't refer to "I". You refer to she,he, your character's name or another character's name. Also, you use verbs and quotes for a respone.
Example of a soap respone-
Angela was sitting under a cherry blossom tree. She was humming a tone as she listened to the wilderness. Angela had her eyes closed as a nice breeze blew at her. As she enjoyed the silence of the wilderness Angela was ready to watch the night stars shine among her. The sun was going down making Angela feel cold. She sat up and shivered. Angela stood up and looked up at the sky. She smiled slightly and began walking towards her lonely little cottage. -
There you go, bud. -
And that is NOT what soaping is. You can soap in first person!
