Allen kept the blinds closed during the day, and avoided patches of sunlight. It wasn't that they could burn him with just a few seconds of contact, but he was still paranoid. He really did hate them, and his parents used to tease him about being a vampire. Until they had been in a freak accident, that the police still asked him about every few years or so. But, regardless of their lingering suspicious, all their money had been left to him, and it had been easy for him to leave the small town of his childhood, and move into the ancient Victorian that towered over the rest of the houses on the street. He had yet to buy any chairs or couches, though, so everything was still completely empty and void of.

Landon swung open the door of his silver Toyota Prius, waving goodbye to the group of kids that hovered outside the school building. He cranked up his car and turned on the heat, freezing to death. It was around four o'clock on a cold, Thursday afternoon. Landon pulled out of the school parking lot and began to drive towards the small place he called home. It wasn't a very long drive, hell, he could walk or bike to school if he really wanted to. Landon felt lazy driving the short distance, but it was the last present he had gotten before his parents had passed away and he wanted to keep it as a reminder. Landon drove for about five minutes, then pulled up into the driveway, parking behind his older sister Monday's car.

The living room was his favorite. In the middle of the room, laying on the hardwood floor, with the blinds drawn, it was completely dark. Eerily silent. He loved it, to say the least, and was so close to falling asleep there when the sound of a car pulling up, and the loud, obnoxious barking of a dog stirred him. He sat up, narrowing his eyes. Last night, the dog had woke him, and the night before that. He really did hate dogs, preferring cats, because they were silent most of the time, and didn't really need that much attention.

(*Mona not Monday ._.)
Landon quickly turned off his car and was greeted by his dog, Cocoa. "Hey, girl." He scratched the fat pug behind her ears and scooped her up into his arms like a baby, carrying her inside. "Did you miss me? Huh?" Cocoa answered with a wet lick to the face, in which Landon responded to with a laugh. He opened the wooden door to the small house, and sat the dog on the floor when they were inside. Shutting the door behind him, Landon looked around. "Mona!" He called. "In the shower!" Came a girl's voice from the bathroom upstairs. Landon sat down on the large white couch and turned on the television. -

Pushing the dog from his thoughts, Allen stood, heading upstairs and into the room that, he supposed, was a bedroom. However, it was missing the one thing that would have made it not just a room. There was no bed. Allen, however, didn't care about this. He had a bunch of blankets and pillows piled inside the closet, away from the windows, and in a small space. Small spaces made him feel safe, held, protected.

Cocoa jumped into his lap while Landon flipped through the channels, finally settling on the news. Landon pet Cocoa for a few minutes, watching the television. Finally, Mona came out of the bathroom wearing only a loose black shirt, her long blonde hair soaked. "Hey Landon." She gave him a small wave, her bright green eyes shining. "I'm about to make dinner. Is salad okay?" Landon nodded and turned his attention back to the television. They were both vegetarians, becomes so after they found out the drunk driver that had killed their parents had worked at a meat factory. It was a odd thing for them to do, but neither of them had enjoyed meat much before anyways.

Allen actually didn't know why he had gone upstairs at all- And, with that thought, he went back downstairs, to the kitchen. He opened a cabnit, grabbing a can on peaches, and opening them with his pocket knife, stabbing one with the rust covered item as well. He was bringing the first piece up to his house when he heard a car pull up in front of his house, and a door slam. He didn't have to hear anything other than the slam to know who it was- His aunt, who, although he had been emancipated from her care in less than a week, still acted like she gave a f--- about him.
