Once Achille had reassured himself that his sword looked just as gorgeous as always, he went into the hall. By that time, he was wearing only a white dress shirt with his dress pants, and the red faux-leather shoes of his daily uniform. The night wasn't too chilly, he knew, so he decided to head outside into the courtyard to practice with one of the enchanted guards. This was an easy way to get some skill in, because the guards were really just hollow suits of red and black metal with a spell put on them.
Outside, all Achille had to do was walk up behind one of the guards along the edge of the courtyard and tap him on the shoulder with the blade of his sword. The guard whipped around, and in a flash he was engaged in a deep battle with it, grinning and laughing whenever the guard slipped up. Finally, he got a good stab in between a space in the metal sheets, and the guard went limp, falling to the ground in a heap of useless junk. -
Elian's steps were quick as he ran off from the castle. There was barely any noise coming from the leaves that quaked and cracked beneath his feet. At least, he knew he couldn't hear them. No, he was willing himself not to hear them. The rabbit preferred silence over noise, and while he enjoyed talking, now was not the time to desire such a thing. He already had a list of people whirling through his mind; There was that stupid dodo bird that had caused his queen some issues. He wasn't that far from where Elian was. He decided that, tonight, the bird would become his prey.
Running, running, running, then a pause. It seemed as if time had flown with him, for he was in the bird's backyard in minutes. Inhaling, he ran some more and jumped, landing on the roof of the bird's house. Now that he was at a good height, he took the chance to admire his surroundings. The dodo lived a little more away from people. His house was small, made of stone, hay, and a few other things that Elian didn't feel bothered to recognized. From the front, a trail ran from the house into the forest. From the back, where he had come from, there was even more forest, though a trail was not present. A soft chuckle escaped him as he slammed his foot into the roof. The impact of his foot meeting the sturdy but soft hay roof broke a hole, the noise probably waking up the bird. He did this again, and again, until there was a hole just big enough for him to slip through. He dropped down into the room, coming face to face with the startled bird. There was no time for the dodo to move for something, to save himself; Elian had the pocket watch out, already transformed into a gun. He pointed it at the guilty bird's head, the small shine of the moon lighting up his face. "You have committed a crime to the White Queen. I pray that this will rid you of your sins." A beat; A gunshot. The sound of blood splattering. And then, Elian's desired silence.
