Okay this is loosely based off of My Fair Lady so I'd recommend reading over the summary on Wikipedia if you don't know what it is. Also, I feel like we should keep the names Henry/Eliza, Higgins/Doolittle, or something similar.
Henry, a young hunter, is stuck teaching a young demon how to be human. After boasting nonstop about his skillfulness in killing the creatures, his teacher (who won't appear because 1x1) decides to make a bet with him. If he can teach the demon, Eliza, how to appear human enough to fool other hunters, Henry moves up in rank to a full hunter and takes his teacher's position. If he fails, he continues to serve as an assistant, nothing more.
Eliza isn't too eager to have been kidnapped by one of the most esteemed hunters of the century, and would have much rather been murdered on the spot than passed off to his spiteful, problematically ambitious apprentice. Of course, she slowly grows to enjoy the situation, something that would've been unlikely if she'd known in the first place that the two hunters plan to kill her as soon as the bet is finished. -

That's what I understood. -
Henry is a linguistics scholar who takes Eliza in and teaches her to speak properly because of a bet he's made with a colleague. Because of his lessons, she is assumed to be a foreign princess at a party they attend. She goes off to marry a boy she's met, Freddy, but calls off the wedding and returns to Henry. He really missed her, so it's a good ending and Freddy isn't really at a loss.
Henry was pretty misogynistic in the original story, though. Let's just avoid that. -
