Claire watched James go inside until he disappeared from her sight. She then turned her attention to her dad. Blood oozed from the bullet wounds, his skin pale. She turned away quickly.
-
James looked around after turning the light on. He found a spade and ran upstairs, carrying it. After running out of the house with the shovel, he dug up a hole about the size of Claire's father's corpse.
-
"Can you grab his feet?" She asked already getting ahold of his cold hands. His glassy eyes seemed to follow her every move, making her want to gag.
-
"Yes." He grabbed his feet, holding tightly.
-
She swung his upper half to gain momentum so they could toss him easier. His body was soon let go.
-
He swung and let him go as well, and watched as the corpse fell into the hole. "I'll cover it back up." He said, grabbing the shovel.
(I have to go, I'll be back later or tonight.) -
(Ok, see ya.)
She wiped her hands on her jeans. "Ok, I'll go in and make dinner. Spaghetti or steak?" -
"Hm.. spaghetti sounds nice." He began filling the grave with the dirt he had recently dug up. After about five minutes, he was done. He grabbed the shovel and walked back to the house.
-
Claire had started working on dinner, running around the kitchen. She added butter to soften the pasta, put meatballs in the oven, and started boiling the sauce. After she was half way through she heard James come through the door. "I almost done." She said walking to the living room, and laying down on the couch.
-
James smiled. "Okay. It's smelling pretty good so far." He set the shovel and his shoes beside the door, before walking to a chair and sitting on it.
-
"Thanks." After a few seconds she got back up to finishing dinner. When it was done she got plastic plates and set the food on the table. "Dinner is served." She called from the kitchen, already sitting at the table.
-
James got up from his chair and walked into the kitchen, his stomach making rumbling sounds. He took a seat at the table and got a fork, digging it into his spaghetti. "Thanks for the meal." He began twirling the noodles onto the fork and stuffing it into his mouth. After he swallowed his forkful, he said, "This is delicious! Have I ever told you that you're an awesome cook?" James said.
-
She laughed at the compliment, in a good way. "Actually no. But you know, fast food and frozen dinners were the main thing." She took a bite herself, and it was, in fact, actually good. "My mom taught me sometimes. Any time my dad went out to a bar or just where ever."
-
"Maybe I should get your mother to teach me. I can't cook worth a damn." He joked. He then began eating his spaghetti again, by the forkful.
-
She smiled. "Yeah, maybe one day." When she finished her plate she set it in the sink and headed up stairs. "I'll be in my bedroom." She said.
