Adam got up, scrunching his hair, "What NOW?" He groaned loudly.
-
Felix began taking role call, not caring who was there anymore. He checked the names of the list and just said, "Go back to whatever you were doing."
-
Adam groaned in response, then sat back down.
-
Felix proceeded on walking to the medical quarters the three had set up in an unused, quite large shed. Both patients were in stable condition, and he nodded, pleased.
-
Adam continued to meditate, quietly.
-
One man in the barrack began to sing quietly. It was Star Dust by Artie Shaw.
Felix checked the man's pulse, and well as Elise's. -
Adam focused on the man's singing. He enjoyed it quite a bit.
-
"And now the purple dusk of twilight time
Steals across the meadows of my heart
High up in the sky the little stars climb
Always reminding me that we're apart." Some of the others sang along. -
Adam watched as his brother sang along. Adam smirked.
-
"You wander down the lane and far away
Leaving me a song that will not die
Love is now the stardust of yesterday
The music of the years gone by." The man coughed a bit, letting the others continue. -
Adam didn't sing, but watched the others sing, oddly enough.
-
"Sometimes I wonder why I spend
The lonely night dreaming of a song
The melody haunts my reverie
And I am once again with you
When our love was new
And each kiss an inspiration
But that was long ago."
Everyone seemed to stop when they sang two last two lines. It reminded too many of their loved ones. -
Adam's brother, being the tough dude he was, sang the last two lines. Adam, out of pure ettiquite, joined his brother.
-
The old man looked at the two, and applauded their duet. "You children, hopefully, are the light of tomorrow."
-
Adam watched as David blushed. "Thank you." Adam said, with a respectful smile for the man. David also thanked the man, shyly.
