(pshpsh psh yah yah i knew that sh)
Arcelio, once dressed, went outside into his car. He knew where Drake's house was from the last time Rosario had run off, and so he was there in a matter of a few minutes, sighing and knocking on the door. Though, he worried that maybe Drake had decided to take Rosario to school with him, since it was a school day.
Drake had just rested his hand on the back of Rosario's neck when there was a knock at the door. He pulled away, noticed that there was a little saliva between them, and kissed him again shortly to get rid of it. "Should I get that?" -
(Because he was leaning on it when he was drunk.)
They stopped at a Wendy's, and though Daniel declined the offer of food, Allen gave him his own order, and then told him to just get a cup of Sprite for Daniel. Rayson complied, returning shortly.
Rosario sighed at the interruption, but nodded, scooting back a bit to give him room to get up. "Yeah. Go ahead. I'll.. I'll wait here." -
(Mama mia has old lady forgetful problems)
Drake nodded, hurrying down the stairs and to the front door. He didn't even bother to check in the peep hole who it was, only opened the door up. "Oh... Arcelio. Hi."
Arcelio squinted at him, sighing. If this was the kind of boy who Rosario was apparently hanging out with, he didn't like it. He opened up the door without checking who it was first, and apparently skipped school to... "Where's Ro? I've got to take him home. Why are your lips all red like that?" He glared at the boy, having a few clues as to what they were doing. "Rosario! You doing alright in here?" He called, looking past Drake into the house. -
(It's okay I forgot to dress Rayson)
Rosario recognized the voice right away, and moved to stand at the top of the stairs, looking down at his supposed step-father, who really hadn't earned the right. "Could you go away? I'm not coming home, Arcelio." He spat out the name like it was vile, and moved a step down, wanting badly for Drake to close the door in the man's face, and come back to the bedroom and kiss him again. -
Arcelio paled a little, watching as Drake stepped to even further block him from coming into the house. "Well, Ro, I just want to make sure you're doing alright and I can't do that when you're not at home. Maybe your friend can come with us but I want you home."
-
"..I don't.. I.. Drake? Would you come?" He was breaking a little, knowing that he didn't actually want to hurt the man, but he still really didn't want to go.
-
Drake and Arcelio glared at each other for a moment, as Arcelio was daring him to say no and Drake was thinking about doing so. Hesitanty, he slowly looked behind him at Ro, still blocking the doorway. "Are you sure you want to, Ro? You're welcome to stay here as long as you like."
Arcelio was practically fuming behind him. "He's got to come home."
"He," Drake said sternly, turning and sizing Arcelio up with his eyes, "goes when he wants." -
"I don't want to go, then," He said, hardening his resolve. "I don't have to do anything you say. You're not my father, or my mother, Arcelio, and I do not have to listen to you." With that, he turned on his heel, and ran back to the bedroom, slamming the door behind him.
-
Arcelio watched him go, then huffed. "Wow. Wow." He started to step past Drake, but the boy grabbed him by the shirt and pushed him back outside. Arcelio shot glares at him, and Drake fired them right back.
"He's not your son, leave him alone," Drake instructed, letting go of his shirt and slamming the door. Arcelio threw his hands up, stomping back to the car to drive home. -
(Imaging this scene like
just
poor babies)
Rosario had a pillow over his face, but it would be impossible for anyone to tell if he was screaming or crying into it, or both, if it weren't for the wet marks on it. It was clear that Arcelio still didn't believe him about what had happened, never would.
By the time Rayson pulled up to the house, it was a bit later, closer to evening. Daniel had drank only a few sips of his soda, but Allen had coaxed him into eating half of his salad, which Rayson was sure he had only gotten because of Daniel being a vegetarian. -
Drake went right upstairs as soon as Arcelio was gone, hurrying to the bedroom. The door was shut, and he didn't want to potentially intrude on him, so he knocked. "Hey, Ro, can I come in?"
Arcelio, once he got home, went to pout in the bedroom. For the next few hours, he managed to limit his drinking to only one more bottle of Miller, and he was cuddled up in the bed watching television when he heard a car pull up. Figuring it was Rayson and the boys, he got out of the bed, and went to go meet them at the door. -
"Yeah," He mumbled, finally lowering the pillow, but hugging it to his chest. He had watched from the window as Arcelio had left, knowing that, sooner or later, he was going to have to face him.
Rayson was, as he insisted Allen was too skinny, carrying a sleeping Daniel. He opened the door, almost walking right into Arcelio. "Oh. Hey, Arcelio. Um.. Ro?" -
Drake entered the room, seeing where Rosario was standing with a pillow to his chest and walking up in front of him. He spread out his arms, and pulled him into a gentle hug, setting his chin atop the other's head. "You can stay as long as you'd like, Ro. However long you need."
Arcelio's first objective was to pay attention to Daniel, brushing the hair away from his sleeping son's forehead and pressing a kiss to it. "He didn't want to come with me. But... He seems like he's relatively safe where he is." -
Rosario, for a moment, tried to pull away. It was his only instinct when it came to close contact, but he willed himself to lean closer, enjoy the warmth of another human. "I have to go back at some point, though.. And I don't want to."
Rayson bit his lip, pushing past Arcelio to lay their son on the couch, nodding at Allen as he took the bags to Daniel's room. "I'll go get him, then. You stay with the boys. I'll be back soon." Without waiting for protest, he left, taking Arcelio's car this time, as he had returned the next door couple's to them. -
(Omfg Ray no
Stop Ray Drake is bad boy violent)
Drake was hesitant to let Rosario go, and decided that for the time being he would not. Rosario was obviously in need of moral support, and he was going to give it to him. "Once you're enrolled in school, I mean, you could stay here all the time. Because then you could just go to and from school with me. And there's weekends, Ro, you could practically live here."
Arcelio was extremely tempted to go rushing after Rayson to stop him, but he knew it would be no use. Rayson could figure out for himself how determined Rosario was to stay. Instead, Arcelio went into the kitchen, to cook up a pot of the herbal tea that Daniel had left at the house the other day.
