Nathaniel swished his shiny red tail in the water provided in the experimental cell for him, sitting on a small silver rock in the corner. His light blue eyes scanned every action and every ripple he created in the soft clear liquid, staring at himself with complete boredom and fluttering his delicate eyelashes every second.
He looked up at the trees hanging before him. Secretly, he didn't like trees. He couldn't climb them, let alone live in them. Sometimes he was scared someone would chop them down and they would crush him. That and they were on land, where he couldn't be. Who could live in trees? Nobody he knew.
Shivering, he covered his chest and rubbed each of his arms for warmth. This cell was freezing cold. He'd rather be swimming around in the ocean like he used to with his little sister and other family members. He missed his old home. He didn't like the freshwater here. But it was all he had.
Sliding off of the rock, Nathaniel swam around, quickly getting used to the substance rubbing against his freckled skin. It felt nice. Not as nice as the ocean, but nice. -
Sorry to interrupt, But AnimePhan emailed me and told me that she doesn't like Br0wnieBunny anymore because she is so selfish and stupid. She also said some bad words but, trust me you don't wanna hear.

I would like to see the email, please. Post it in a thread in The Lounge so that the soap isn't interrupted.
Trust me, I would like to read it. -
(how can you f--- a fishie ;w;)
Eren was dragged out of the safety of his cell. His eyes were brimming with tears, tears that were threatening to spill over. The scientist that had his arm was rambling on about how he had to get a shot that would keep him from getting sick- that it was a part of the "law". Since when did they listen to the law?
The scientist threw him onto a lab table. His shirt was ripped off and his hands were chained to his sides. He gulped, watching as a female nurse got things to prepare his skin for the injection. It always hurt bad. The needle was always big, and it took them forever to get it into his skin. It was agonizing for the poor boy.
"Now now, our precocious Angel boy. We're moving you to a cell with someone that's different and beautiful, just like you. This is why you're getting a shot. It'll help you both to not make each other sick. This one is very small, so you shouldn't have a problem with it. We'll be moving you into the new cell right after this, and you'll meet your soon to be mate," the scientist said with a smile on his face. "You may find that we'll have to help you reproduce, but don't worry, that'll probably be a while. We hope that you'll be able to bond with your new friend and have real feelings for him."
Eren whimpered as the nurse picked up the needle. The scientist had lied, because it was the same size as all of the other needles. But he wouldn't care. It didn't hurt them. They didn't need it. He did. He let out a shriek as the needle pierced into his skin. The liquid was injected quickly and was pulled out as soon as it was all gone. The scientist undid the chains, holding out a red apple. "Here you go. You did good this time." Eren clung to the apple, sniffling. -
(because...um
scientists can figure it out)
Nathaniel heard a large shriek pierce through the water, gritting his teeth. His head shot up out of the water and over the surface. What the hell was that? He climbed up onto the rock, then bounced to the shore of the water and over to the window behind the little pond and looked around.
His blue eyes scanned the outside of the cell. It seemed interesting, considering he usually didn't pay attention to all the people running around with injections and needles and other types of chemicals or things to help out with experiments. It was cool to watch, with it being his first time that he had actually paid attention to the surroundings around the room.
He watched around until he saw a bird boy being injected with a needle and then clinging to an apple after done. It was probably him who shrieked. But now, Nathan didn't mind because the young man was...handsome. -
(they can give him legs and a dick .o.)
The scientist took Eren's arm, leading him over to the cage where a merman was being held. He opened the cage's door, letting him walk in on his own. "Have fun, Angel boy. I expect good things from you." He walked away to go torture another poor soul.
Eren stood there where he had been deposited with this dumb look on his face. His wings fluttered for a moment. Cautiously, he walked all of the way over to the water, peering down at the person inside of it. He hadn't ever been this close to an experiment. It made him feel special, as if he was getting a prize for being such a good little toy. He knew what he was feeling: pride.
After a moment, he realized he had no clue what or who this strange new person was. He also had no idea if they were friendly to birds. He continued to stare. What was he!? All of the sudden, he caught sight of the tail. "You're a fish," Eren blurted out from sheer confusion. -
(GENIUS)
Nathaniel looked around the laboratory and watched in awe until his cell door was opened. Was he being set free? He quickly swished to the side and watched the scientists with eagerness, smile fading when he figured out it was just another person being released into the room with him.
He looked up at the man, clearly offended by the tone in the others voice. "Yes, I'm a...a fish. I hope that's not a problem." Nathaniel's voice was as sweet and soft as ever, almost like it was sugarcoated. He sat in the water, staring up at Eren, eyes wide.
"Let alone, you are an angel...bird...thing." -
(/happy clapping
I demand that you get on early so we can do this s---.)
"Dove," he corrected. "I'm a dove thing." He sat on the soft ground, staring hard at the other boy. "My name is Eren. The lab coats call me Falcon and Angel boy." He sighed, reaching out a hand to touch the water.
Eren took a bite from the apple, a miserable look on his face. He was getting tired of being their personal pet. He wanted to escape so bad, to have a family that wouldn't have the same fate as he did. Unfortunately, it looked like he'd have to find a way to reproduce with a fish. He wondered what his children would look like.
"By the way, it's not a problem that you're a fishie. I happen to like them. The ones you can find in things called aquariums are my favorites. You're like one.. A very big one. I like your tail." -
(I will try
Sometimes I sleep in
But I'll try
And sorry for the bad paragraphs my grammy is sleeping and I'm on mobile)
Nathan seemed rather concerned about the miserable look on Eren's face when he proceeded to eat his apple. He watched the angel and nodded, slowly blinking every few seconds and heaving a sigh then to look down at the water and back up at him.
"I'm sorry, Mr. Eren." the fish apologized. He stifled a small smile and raised up his hand for a handshake. "My name is Nathaniel. Other people call me...Nathaniel. Or Nathan." he chuckled. "I'm a...merman."
He blushed at the small comment about his tail, looking down at the light reflecting from the scales onto his bright red tail. He smiled, looked back up at Eren and listened to the story with fascination. "T-thank you...I like your wings." -
(Okay.
It's fine.)
Eren seemed to be intent on eating all of the apple. All of the scientists would agree that it was fascinating to watch him eat because of the funny faces he'd make before and after eating. He played with the water for a moment.
Chuckling, he smiled at Nathaniel. He liked his new friend. Forgetting about why he was there, he took his hand, shaking it. "It's nice to meet you, Nathan the merman." He wanted to come up with a unique nickname for him.
As Eren thought about nicknames, he caught Nathan's praise. He blushed, shaking his head. "They're nothing compared to that tail of yours." He looked away, a small red tint taking over his cheeks. "Did you get that naturally or from experiments?" -
Nathan watched Eren play with the water for a few seconds. In his mind, he had a mini-panic attack, hoping that Eren didn't have any dangerous chemicals to him. But he calmed down when the angel took his hand out and he heaved a tiny breath.
He put his hand in the water where it was after shaking Eren's. "It's nice to meet you too, Eren the Dove Thing."
Nathan looked back down at his tail again, rubbing his other hand against it and staring at it for a few seconds. "I got this naturally. I'm a real merman." -
He watched Nathan with a content look on his face. It was fun to be so close to someone else. It was like he was allowed to pass through a normally closed gate. As he continued to look at him, he realized he thought the other bit was actually pretty hot. Disturbed, he shoved the thought out of his head.
"You're very lucky. My wings are from expriments. It took a lot of needles, time, and apples to get me through it alive. I'm one of the lucky ones. They helped me live.. They want me to stay alive. I don't have to have a bad death. I feel selfish, but I'm also glad that I get to live to see another day, even if it's in the place. Even if I might never breathe fresh air." -
"Ia thought that your wings are natural." Nathaniel commented softly, shifting to admiring them at different angles. "They look natural. And they must feel natural, am I right?" he questioned, flapping his tail. "How long did they take to grow in? And is your back sore from all the pain?"
He looked straight in Eren's eyes with a flicker of curiosity from his own beautifully aqua-like pair. He had come to think that the other was an interesting character. He had the urge to get to know him more. -
