"Thanks." She sat down on the couch to wait. Hopefully the new pills would get rid of her sickness as well.

He came back with a glass of water and sat down on the couch. "You seem happy to have the new pills." He grinned at her.

She nodded. "More like I'm happy to be rid of the old ones." She gratefully took the water and downed the pills, giving a little sigh of satisfaction. Almost immediately she started to feel better. Still a little uncomfortable, but it was quickly fading.

He grinned and hugged her happily. "It seems like you look better." He placed his hands on her stomach and smiled more.

She nodded. "Much better." She smiled and leaned into him. "Part of me still can't believe all this." She admitted. Maria had always dreamed of having a family, and now that it was actually happening...

"Well I'm just extremely happy." He chuckled lightly and sighed. "But I'm scared for the kid too..." if Clark found out he was having a child everyone would be in danger.

She nodded. "It'll be hard, keeping it all a secret." She glanced down at the visible bump on her stomach. If Clark returned again he'd surely notice it.

He smiled sadly and shook his head. "He'll never show up again, I'll make sure of it." He kissed her forehead and stood up. "Now how about I make you a nice late breakfast?"

Maria smiled, comforted by his words. She nodded. "That would be lovely." She stood up. "But it's your day off, I can cook if you want."

He shook his head and made her sit back down again. "No it's also your day off too so you relax." He smiled lightly.

Maria sighed, but stayed put. "I think my stubborn-ness is rubbing off on you." She teased with a slight grin.

He laughed lightly and kissed her forehead. "I've always been stubborn Maria, where have you been?" He walked to the kitchen and started to make her something.

She laughed and followed him into the kitchen. She sat down at the island. Maria liked watching him cook, it was just another thing that made her feel like they were a real couple; a real family.

He made her a pile of pancakes and doused them in syrup with butter on top. He placed the plate in front of her and another plate with bacon on it. He smiled happily at her and sat down.

She took a deep breath and grinned. "It smells amazing." She cut off a forkful of pancakes and took a bum it's. Her smile brightened. "It tastes amazing too. Thank you!"
