SequoriaNatural NewbieCan someone please explain to me which is better and what's the difference between the two? Ive rp before but not so much have I soaped. Can someone explain it to me maybe? :)

I still don't understand why we do have the whole soap thing =/ On tumblr and DA we just call it role playing. So I'm confused of why we even have the soap xD

Supposedly the difference is
Role playing is simple and mostly one liners with emotes like
Shido: Hello! -waves-
And soaping is paragraphs and has more detail like
After one shot the beast was dead. Crimson ooze ran out of its body like a facuet or whatever

The word soap originated from the first "soap" thread that was posted in offbeat a long time ago. It's called a soap because the thread was originally a soap opera. It was basically a roleplay, though. A story we all wrote together.
Sometimes I forget that "soap" is kind of a GTQ word and that other sites don't have the same concept, lulz. -
