How bout this?
The year is 2057. Humans have discovered that works is overrun by supernatural and have become accepted in the world. C1 and C2 are the best of friends. They go through everything together. Even when it means stumbling across a set of necklaces in the sand on a beach and becoming the one supernatural creature that was still a myth- mermaids. Because of this, they have to keep it a secret.
It would develop from there.
Though that would make it so that they would both be girls... hmm. If that is okay with you then I guess it doesn't matter, though. :D -
