She couldn't help first, a dark red blush that crept into her pale cheeks. Then a small burst of giggling left her lips. "Then why don't you come down here and ask properly?" She mused.
-
"You'll just make fun of me." He said, misinterpreting her amusement.
-
She stood up. "I will not!" She declared. "I promise." Her voice and eyes softened.
-
He looked at her for a moment, then nodded, leaping down from the tree.
He walked to stand in front of her, then frowned.
"I...don't know how to ask." -
She softly poked his chest, where his heart would be. "Feel from here." She then poked his head. "Think here." And at last touched his mouth. "Say it from here." She sai quietly and took her hand away, her fingers tingling slightly.
-
He blinked, then nodded. He took her hand gently, and sighed, smiling faintly.
"L-Lillian, would you do me the honor of letting me come to the ball with you?" He said, voice getting quieter toward the end. -
Her eyes glistened as she listened to him and looked him in the eye. She swore her heart did something funny. "I would love to take you Mr. Whyte." She smiled and realized how close they were standing.
-
Whyte smiled, in both equal parts relief and joy. He looked down at her hand in his, and his pale white cheeks colored a bit.
"Um..thank you." -
She silently twined their fingers. "Whyte..?" She asked so softly it was almost carried away by the wind. "Will you come into town with me today?"
-
Whyte's eyes widened, and he thought for a moment, before smiling and nodding. "Sure, I'd enjoy that."
-
She smiled, a full one. "Come on." Without letting go of his hand she led him towards her horse.
-
Whyte stared at the mare suspiciously. Fox glanced at all of them, tilting his head.
-
"She won't bite.. Maybe." The horse snorted and blew out air so it's lips showed her teeth. "Come ooon." She dragged him over. "Get up."
-
He hesitantly got up onto the horse, staring down at Fox.
Fox twitched his whiskers, then disappeared, heading back to the house. -
Lilian smiled and pulled herself up infront of him. "You know.. Some people say I go to fast." She chuckled and pulled the horse towards the market. "So.. Hold on." Kicking the horse's side, the mare shot off into a run.
