He sped up slightly when she shifted. He was ready to get home and change from his wet clothes.
-
She lengthened her stride a bit, shaking out her fur. The cold surrounded her, made her feel barely alive.
-
They escaped the trees and now it was raining harder. It sunk through his pelt and down to his bones.
-
Flight kept her head low, fur sticking to her body, slick and clingy. You shouldn't have told him, an inner voice hissed. She shook her head, trying to ban the thoughts--the feelings--away.
-
Jaxon perked his ears as the smell of home started to come to him. He sped up more so he was jogging now.
-
Flight trotted after him, not quite as eager as he was. She didn' know how she could face anyone.
-
They got to the door and he shifted and held it open for her to go inside.
-
She shifted as well, walking inside. She was freezing. Shaking like a leaf, she immediately went upstairs.
-
He closed the door behind him and waited for her to go upstairs. After awhile he walked up the steps and headed for the fourth floor.
-
Flight stepped inside her and Cammi's room, not caring if the other girl was there. She grabbed a blanket and wrapped it around herself as tightly as she could.
-
Jaxon got to his room and stripped down. He got inside the shower and was shaking violently as he stood in the steaming hot water.
-
She went into the bathroom and turned on the water, heating it up as high as it could go and then grabbbing clothes. The blanket wasn't helping the cold.
-
Jaxon sat down and leaned against the wall of the bath tub. Hot water scalded his skin and started to turn it red. Steam filled the room and crept out from his bathroom door.
-
Flight climbed into the shower, welcoming the heat. With a small sigh, she squirted shampoo onto her hand and transferred it to her hair.
-
He didn't bother washing up, just sat in the welcomed heat. After a long time he turned it off and wrapped a towel around his waist. Looking in the mirror he was greeted by new and old scars. But when he looked into his own eyes he was shocked to find new and old emotions playing in his dark eyes.
