  Finchbreeze was slammed into the back of the nursery. "No!" She yowled, trying to block the entrance, but she couldn't move.

  Badger took his time now, heading towards Leafkit and Foxkit. "Well Well Well!" He said in his bad attempt at speaking cat.

  Leafkit, eyes wide, looked back at Blizzardstorm, her wounded mother, Foxkit, and Blizzardstorm. "Blizzardstorm! Help!"
  
  Finchbreeze coughed up a bunch of blood. She hurt her back leg and she had another torn ear.

  Leafkit didn't notice his eyes got darker. "Help!"

  Blizzardstorm slowly got up on his hind paws, balancing carefully so he wouldn't fall. He hissed at Badger, getting his attention.
  
  Badger turned, and turned pale. The cat looked like a spirit, with dark eyes and amazing strength. Was a spirit protecting the kits? No matter if it was, Badger wouldn't go near a spirit. He turned tail and ran. As soon as he was gone, Blizzardstorm collapsed from relief and exhaustion.
  
  (Oh, yeah. He's very superstitious.)

  Finchbreeze felt dizzy. Her back leg felt twisted and she knew for sure that she had broken her tail. She pressed her head against the ground.

  Blizzardstorm opened his eyes. They were flickering again. Light, Dark, light, Dark. Then they stopped on Light.
