Better. xD
Rithe tilted her head.
"Alright... but unless they're coming in the next half hour, I'm pillaging some food and taking a shower first." Rithe said, sticking her tonuge out and smiling before running off toward a random store with heavy boards over the windows. -
Marcus rolled his eyes and watched her. This girl was eventually gonna get them killed...
But maybe he needed a shower too...and new clothes. The thought of getting rid of the permanent salty smell of sea with was too good to resist.
"Meet me here in 30 minutes!" He shouted and ran toward one of the less ruined buildings. Hopefully they were generous enough to leave some clothing for a poor stranger... -
"Sure, whatever!" Rithe called over her shoulder, waving. She started to push open the door to the shop, but found that it was locked up tight.
"Oh fuck you." she growled irritably. Glancing around, she found nothing she could use to pick the lock. "Well then."
Rithe was prepared to spend a good five or ten minutes on this door if it meant eating, but with one solid kick, the door gave way and fell inward, revealing rotten wood at the hinges.
"Huh. Lucky me." she murmured, and walked in on top of the fallen door. -
After taking a warm shower and changing to a a black t-shirt and a pair of dark blue jeans he'd taken time to choose among the many clothes, Marcus walked to the kitchen and straight to the fridge. It was full.
"God bless you, generous family!" He sang in happiness. Obviously this family didn't have the chance to get back home and pack up, Nevertheless, they were still the best family to Marcus. -
Rithe was glad to see that this shop had doubled as a family's living space- a store throughout the bottom floor, a one bathroom, one bedroom living space above it. She took her shower, and, upon finding that this was the home of an old man- a lonely one, by the lack of pictures on the wall- she found herself simply cleaning the dress she'd come in and wearing it again. It was still dripping wet when she went back to the store to look for supplies, but she'd grown used to that feeling. She found herself a black satchel, a rather pretty silver pocket watch, a pretty hunting knife, and a few cans of food, and packed them all up before heading back to the place where we would meet up with Marcus. Forget eating anything now, she had no time after the time she'd spent cleaning her clothes.
-
When he was sure he couldn't eat anymore, he finally left the sandwiches and went upstairs to pack some clothes. Wait, he had to get food too for later. The generous family had even left him a bag to carry his stuff....
* * * * * * * * *
"You won't believe me. That house had everything. I even brought some for later." He pointed at the rather large bag.
"Oh look...you didn't find new clothes?" He said with a grin. -
Rithe glared daggers at Marcus.
"No, smartass, I didn't. That's fine though, I rather like this dress." she answered irritably. She held out her satchel pointedly. "I found stuff, too." -
"Too bad because I had something for you....and that's really nice."
Marcus tried to clear his mind of the warm bed in the house...they'd been swimming and walking since morning, which means for more than 9 hours. Now tired and exhausted, he had to leave all the good things behind and run away.
"The house was so...ugh. I hate my life. We should get going."
(Should they stay in the city and face the enemy soldiers or should they face them somewhere else?) -
Rithe rolled her eyes.
"I don't wear anything but dresses anyway.. They're easy to move around in." She wound the handle of the satchel around her shoulders, crossing her arms.
"Ready?"
I don't really know. Whichever you'd prefer. They could be on their way out when that happens? -
(Ok. Seems like a good idea.)
Marcus let out a sigh. Hopefully they'd find somewhere safe eventually...
"Ok. Let's go." -
Yayzles~ ^o^
Rithe headed off toward where most of the people seemed to be going, absently going through her thoughts one by one to try and come up with a plan. They needed to go somewhere.. They needed to know where they were. They still needed to know why they had to be on the run in the first place.. -
Marcus went with the stream of people besides Rithe. So many people...all trying to only find their way through, not caring about anybody else other than their family.
"Let's hope they know where they're going."
The brainless zombies they looked like, it wasn't unlikely they were just running for their life. -
Rithe followed with him, not feeling any more assured by his doubts about whether they knew where they were going. That was a legitimate question. Did they know? Was there any kind of plan to this, or were they just running from their percieved threat in any way they could think to get away?
"That's nice, Marcus, now I don't trust thi-"
A tremendous shaking in the ground knocked Rithe and a lot of the people walking around them over, and a sound much like thunder filled the air as a wave of heat took the air. -
"Rithe!" Marcus grabbed her hand and pulled her up. This was gunfire. They'd attacked.
"Come on. Come on!" Marcus ran toward the nearest house, dragging Rithe along.
When they got inside, he closed the door, locking it. Although it wasn't gonna help.
"Are you shot?" -
Rithe staggered along behind Marcus until they got in the house, and she had to press her cheek against a wall until the dazed feeling subsided.
"Er... no... not shot..." she muttered finally, eyes spinning from the sound and the smell and the horrible shaking. "Are.. are you?"
