Thread Topic: The world is meaningless

Bob, picking and choosing what you want from my statement doesn't make yours valid. I blended it better. Also religion doesn't take a stand on every detail of modern day life, so there is plenty to pursue. Being ignorant towards that fact annoys me and I was surprised you made that comparison.
Life can still be meaningful with religion. Tons of people have made beneficial impacts on the world who are followers of religion. As well as followers of religion who have made negative impacts. It's rarely ever absolutely true.
I don't really know what heaven is like. And though you make a valid point, God is a supernatural being, so he can do whatever he would like. So in some way there is a possibility for heaven to still remain a a place at peace that neither of us can comprehend even though billions are being damned to hell. Since God is all powerful, anything is possible.
This is getting too religious. I was hoping for the focus to be more philosophically based.
anyway I gotta go. -
I answered your philosophical question, and you focused on the only two lines that weren't. So don't act like I'm shamefully focusing on insulting your God. I gave my interpretation of your idealistic afterlife.
also religion is part of philosophy.
And as for picking and choosing what I wanted from your statement; Those two quotes were right next to each other, and part of the same sentence. I was pointing out that it was a contradiction.
Religion does have an impact on politics, society, socialization, art, music, and science. Literally every aspect of someone's life has been impacted by religion at some time or another.
I am not ignorant. Ignorant would require I do not know something. Saying something that you don't think exists is the exact opposite. Even if you were correct on the assumption that religion doesn't affect every aspect of society, that would mean that I am creating a false reality for religion. And as someone who actively has religion in every aspect of your life, who are you to claim that it doesn't affect the rest of us?
Brit, a lot has happened since you've left. One thing you'll notice about me is I no longer care about not being offensive.
Thank you. -
Mr Prince NewbieYes...
It seems bob is edgy since he couldnt actually give responses to nikorb's posts.
And hey.
You accuse them of being the worst of Christians, giving Christians a bad name, but they actually stood up for their values.
That is true spirit.
And by the way, your manifesto wasnt really a good comeback. Neither was incessant namecalling.
I'm sure you have noticed, but YOU , barberbob2, acted more as a pidgeon on a chessboard.
Someone with opposing views shows up, defends his views, and acts calm in the face of your accusations. You ran from thread to thread spreading actual hateful slander and still claiming innocence.
Sadly, I know that you will continue slandering even after thisis posted.
False threats dont work over the internet.
I have not written this to gloat or act as a victim. I has been written so that you can actually understand that people can see through you.
Your words are poisonous, but I dont think one would want to be called your equal.
The term "spewing ignorance" is not using correctly when the other person knows more than you.
Mr. Prince -
care to explain any of that?
You literally created that account today and you seem to know everything. Either you're a second account and hiding. Or you are taking things at face value and making accusations without knowing me or anything about the situation.
In either case, I haven't made any threats. I have done nothing that theism hasn't done to me. And trying to read into me is annoying an innacurate.
Thank you. -
Mr Prince NewbieOh, I could be nikorb, or nikorb's friend, whom he asked to help him here, or could be nikorb's father, or I could have no relationship to nikorb at all.
It doesnt matter.
I just came here to point out that if you have a forum titled "Religion and Spirituality" then you should be willing to talk about actual religions.
Point made.

The description at the top of the Religion and Spirituality forum
"Welcome to our religion board, where you can discuss all different faiths and beliefs (or lack thereof). Please remember to be respectful of others when discussing religious topics!"
And if you're going to try and use the respect thing against me, I spent years being respectful to religion, and only recently gave up on that idea.
