Thread Topic: Er, I have a question
-
If God can do anything, can God produce a stone so heavy that even he can not lift?
If you answer yes- He can't lift it. I thought God could do anything? Are you suggesting that your god does not behold the power that he claims?
If you answer no- What about the bible? It says God is the ultimate creater. Are you accepting that you and your god exaggerate? That there is no ability to do everything? -
As an atheist I wouldn't be able to answer that question, but you have an interesting argument.
-
Paradox...
-
Paradox indeed, my dear friend!
No matter the answer, "God" is subject to human limitations. -
I don't want this to die :I

holden NoviceAfter contemplating what I saw on this-
I'm going to become an atheist now. God seems stupid now.
Thanks for the long needed enlightenment. -
dw1996 NewbieThe one problem of your argument is that you assume God can do anything. There can be limits to God's power. I've heard people say that God created us with free will, and it is clear that humans have free will. So then God has no influence on our decisions or our actions. He cannot "harden our hearts", as He is said to have done to Pharoah in Exodus.

This wasn't really to a specific religion, just an omnipotance paradox.
Just a second.. -
Ok. Just did that.
Don't really know why I'm posting again other than me saying "Just a sec" xD
Anyways, omnipotence is impossible. -
dw; Yet everytime we do something, they all claim it's part of God's PLAN, therefore they claim God has control over what you do. So if everything is a plan, then it's not free will. :/
-
How can free will coexist with divine preordination?
-
This is similar to your example, Hunter.
