Acts 9:7 and Acts 22:9 is a direct contradiction.
Anyone else note some inconsistancies? -
They do not contradict eachother. In Acts 9:7 the men travelling with Saul stood there speechless. Whilst they were walking on the path to Damascus a light from heaven flashed around them. Saul fell to the ground. The men couldn't see God but could hear him.
When Saul stood up and opened his eyes he was blinded. For 3 days he was blind and could not eat or drink anything. The men guided him to Damascus.
In Acts 22:9 Saul explains what he and the rest of the men saw. He explained how he was blinded by the light around them but how he could hear and understand the voice. However, the rest of the men did not understand.
Both of these verses do not contradict eachother but rather support and build the evidence. -
They actually do contradict eachother.
Seeing as how none of them saw it (first verse i listed) and then it says they did (second verse I listed). You can say whatever you want, but it's a contradiction. -
And I laughed at your last sentence. There is absolutely no evidence of God.
-
They could see a bright light around them and heard the voice. They couldn't see God in person but they did see the light.
-
There is evidence for God :D
-
First verse "The men with saul stood speachless for they heard something but saw no one" They saw nothing.
What evidence? -
The earth is an intricate design. There is no way this earth could have been formed by accident.
The odds of a single protein molecule forming by chance is EXTREMELY low. If the elements in our atmosphere were even a few percentage points difference the vast majority of life would die.
For everything to come into place perfectly, with NO mistakes, there must be a creator. Without a creator there would be nothing. Not even the smallest atoms.
In every religion, country and in each single human being there is a sence of right and wrong. Murder, lying and stealing are univerally rejected. How do we understand the difference of right and wrong if there were NO God? -
Read the prophet's post on page 3 of the thread made by companion cube. It sounds alot more sound than 'Invisible man made the world'.
And even if what your saying is true, it is in no way evidence. -
I'm gonna continue this debate or watever when my high wears off. See you whenever.

I read what he said. And there is eveidence like evrything else that happened in history. However, I can not prove to you that God does exist. It comes down to faith. It is the same way with evolution. Scientists haven't been able to repeat their theories. It is also a belief.
-
What a change in tactic Ange.
"There is evidence for God"
"I can not prove to you that God does exist. It comes down to faith."
Whatever happened to all of your evidence? Further more, scientists have been able to repeat their theories. Evolution can be observed in viral immunity and fossil records. Gravity can be observed in mass conversions, light warping around stars, orbits, and low gravity environments. Even fusion and fission can be observed in solar scans and nuclear decay.
Also, your reasoning is understandable on the chances of a planet like this forming, but that's if you're only looking at it having to be exactly like this. I suggest you look into researching the Drake Equation.
Considerable disagreement on the values of most of these parameters exists, but the values used by Drake and his colleagues in 1961 were:
-R* = 1/year (1 stars formed per year, on the average over the life of the galaxy; this was regarded as conservative)
-fp = 0.2-0.5 (one fifth to one half of all stars formed will have planets)
-ne = 1-5 (stars with planets will have between 1 and 5 planets capable of developing life)
-fl = 1 (100% of these planets will develop life)
-fi = 1 (100% of which will develop intelligent life)
-fc = 0.1-0.2 (10-20% of which will be able to communicate)
-L = 1000-100,000,000 years (which will last somewhere between 1000 and 100,000,000 years)
Drake states that given the uncertainties, there are probably between 1000 and 100,000,000 civilizations in the galaxy right now.
So very rare, huh? -
I have evidence but like anything else there is no complete proof. I can not make God stand right infront of you to confirm he's really there.
Later, when I'm not about to leave for school I will give you some more evidence. Believe me, it will keep on coming. -
Ange: Do you mean how God shows himself through his works, kind of like an engineer?
Because saying you have evidence but no proof is a direct contradiction. But I think I know what you mean.
