Christianity really did f--- everything up...
-
That's what we've been saying.
-
The people who carried it did that, not the religion itself. Such as the popes.
-
guilt by association.
Tell you what religion, you bring out your champions, your heros and heroines of good and the rest of us will bring out ours. Deal?
-
tongue AdvancedAbe Lincoln an atheist? Whoa. However Jefferson and Franklin were actually deists.
-
Bob- I don't want to do thi right now, but I'd like to point out that T. Jeffs and B. Franks believed in a divine creator, but the creator doesn't interact.
And Jefferson kinda sucked as a president. -
that is something we can both agree on.
(i got this off the internetz, i cant help if they screwed up their atheists.) -
Bob- I 'm referring to the crappy way he handled to trading tariffs with France and England. All our crops went to complete waste. I'm not sure what I would'vr done in that situation though.
(They put effort in to making it, yet they can't even get it right) -
Still, excluding the two oddballs, the picture still holds its value.
-
I thought Lincoln was a Christian.
-
nope.

tongue AdvancedJefferson was a staunch isolationatist. The Navy under Jefferson only had 16 warships. However, Jefferson's style of governance set the template for presidential politics until 1860. His work was of the utmost importance among early presidents who shaped the nation, more so than George Washington even. In historical study, signifigant figures such as those are usually looked upon favorably. So I happen to look quite favorably upon Thomas Jefferson as president. While the Embargo Act was a huge miscalculation, a worse one would have been going to war against England or France, which many people at the time were in favor of doing.

History isnt my strongest subject...

Religion f---ed everything up. People against religion f---ed everything up.
But there's one thing that holds true no matter how you see the deity discussion:
HUMANS ARE BIG SCREWUPS
I know there have been good volunteer workers from various religions, and people in general have created great things such as killer awesome machines and buildings(engineering:one of the coolest things ever) as well as Star Trek, but really people have screwed up as much as they succeed if not more.
