Religion is the abomination of society. It is a disgusting scar on human evolution. You fools shackle yourself to bronze age idiology and try to impose your self destruction onto others. Religion festers in the hearts of the ignorant who are too comfortable with conformity to aid the progression of the human race.
This reminds me of the people who were against making the HPV vaccine routine even though it would undoubtably prevent alot of cervical cancer and save womens lives. These people werent in the anti-vaccine crowd, they were white men old enough to be our grandparents who didnt want to take any more of the risk out of sex. It's a control mechanism from the religious that is not only trying to instil their dominance over human society, but is also risking human lives.
This is not the first nor by far the worst that religion has hurt humanity. Look back at;
The building of the pyramids,
the great crusades,
witch trials,
dark ages,
nazis,
and even racism and slavery,
can all be linked back to religious propaganda and desperate attempts to hold power over each others lives.
Even look at current issues such as gay rights and abortion. Both of which arent being fought by actual apposing sides, but are being resisted by the ritious who dont want a world where their gods words dont matter.
What is really so bad about two lovers of the same sex wanting to be together? No reason you can come up with will really make sense at all. And also, on abortion, saying that it is illegal to have the choice to bring life into this world or not is imposing your choices on others. Who's playing God now?
Personally I know several women who have had abortions and they usually later on decide to have children when they are ready and financially stable enough to raise one. Saying that women dont have the right to not bring a life into the world means that you dont want someone who is alive today to be here. It means that maybe your best friend wouldnt exist and instead would be replaced by someone else. It means that you would rather a child live today in possible insecurity or financial ruin than a child live tomorrow in a happier home.
This is all religious influence and their attempt to control our society. Look around you, whether you believe in a divine being or not, and see what damage these incoherent, ignorant, and harmful beliefs have done to our society. Religion has already destroyed countless years of human records and discovery and murdered billions of innocent lives, do we really need to prolong this disgraceful fascade any longer?
Religion is the cancer of society, and just like a cancer, we need to cut it out before it kills us once and for all. -
HIIIII!
First of i have a few things to say, and a few questions.
1. You are very magnifiscant writer!!!!!
2. The first pharagragh you said that religion is slowing the progression of humans. In what ways?
3.Havent heard anything of this virus thingy, so i cant say anything against it.
4.I belive that, some of those causes can be lead to some religions, yes, but we dont know what happened then, so we cant say anything about it. And on the witch craft stuff, of people being killed because they are supposed "witches", it is diffacult to say. Everyone of that eara was superstiousos, and i feeel sorry for the lives that were lost then.
5.Yes, i dont belive in aborition, and gay marrages but let me explain before you judge me. Aborition i taking a life of a human being, one that has developed enough to have a prosperous life, and yet people take that life as if it was fine. Let me put it this way, you say that they created its life, and they can take it away, but if it were say a mother killing her 3 year old child would you feel the same way?
Gay marrige, is something i dont agree with, yes, but i have no right to say what they can do or not. I dont hate them, i would gladly be a freind of one, and god loves them too. People, are just trying to help them see that.
6.We dont want to control sociaty, we want to help them, we arent forcing our belifes on them, we are trying to let them see the way, and if they dont like it, then well back off and pray for them.

1. Thank you. I've had alot of practice.
2. A more obvious example of this is the Dark Ages, when for nearly 300 years science was forbidden and punishable by death. Modern times are more subtle but the religious are still trying to make things illegal even though there is no real harm behind it. Such as gay sex or abortion.
3. fair enough. research it.
4. The proof is there if you're willing to research it.
5. I said it was alright to have the choice to bring it in to the world or not. There is a very fine difference.
And I support gays even though I myself am straight.
6. You're trying to speak for the entire religious community and while that intention is noble it is futile. Whilst you arent trying to control the government, all throughout American history there are cases of religion influencing decisions in politics. -
I have to go, but I would happily contineue this discussion friday if you'd like?
-
I dont believe in any gods but would be happy if the Greek gods were real.

i believe there is a higher power but not like a god type thing
plus my 10 greats grandmother had 5 sisters and she was the one not to be killed in the witch trials of salem -
Awesomeicle NovicePersonally i am NOT for abortion 2nd i am NOT for gay or lesbian of any kind if i met one or talked to someone FOR it i would tell them about the one true GOD and explain to them how they ARE WRONG i do not think us christions should "tolorate" these acts of sins. As of people beliveing in more than one "god" they are WRONG there is only one GOD. Questions or comments I'll be happy to answer them to the best of my ability if any ones wondering what religion is its Curch Of Christ im not saying all are good but some fall into the ways of the "world" anyone have sertain questions of my belifes please ask. Thank you, Desiree
