I am frustrated but don't know how to explain it in a way that makes sense. It's the time of year to celebrate our holidays but we don't even know our traditions anymore. So we're scraping together whatever we can, and making educated guesses.
And yet, our historical sites and cultural areas are often destroyed or made inaccessible to us.
I'm Scottish and Irish. These days I live in Scotland, and every issue I speak about is bad here too. Scotland has more freedom than any of the others these days, but is far from independence.

I know that winter is the month of The Cailleach. So I'll light a candle, and pray for a safe winter for my family. Is there more I'm supposed to do? Am I supposed to keen, or speak her a poem? Is there an offering she requires? I don't know. No one knows anymore.
And it's so f---ing painful.
It's so hard for people to understand how it feel missing large chunks of your culture forever. Its devastating.
And I'll just fill it in with plaster, and make do. As we have have for so long. -
