Thread Topic: Why do you follow your Gods?

Hello! I'd like to hear everyone's reason for following their Gods! This could also be the reason you're religious.
For me, my religion is slightly seperated from the deities I follow, but I still worship them.
The Dagda - The dagda is an Irish patron, and is very connected to the kind of person I wanted to be as a kid. As the god of Druids, he was a natural choice for me to accept his signs, and become a follower of his.
His assistance in my work as both a Druid and a pagan is to help with my confidence in my own intent!
Set - This is a bit of a weird story actually. So shortly after I found my notes for a project I did on Egyptian gods, I feel down a rabbit hole of research, and found out that Set was originally depicted as a positive god, who protected his people and it wasn't until the cult of horus started to villains him that he became to be considered an evil god
(( a mix of being an antagonist in Horus' story and being the god of foreigners in a time of war ))
At around this time, I started to receive signs, after I reached out to work with Set as I felt a connection funnily enough?
Ishtar - So, recently I learned after doing some divination and talking to a friend who works with Aphrodite (( who I believed I'd worked with when I was 11 to 14 )), that what I described did not line up.
And then I realised that everything I was doing to worship ishtar was actually what I'd done for "aphrodite" and that's how I found out I'd been working with ishtar the whole time. Anyway my younger self's incompetence aside.
Ishtar is a comforting presence in my work, who helps me connect more strongly with my beliefs, and be more confident in how I present myself.
Ishtar became my matron Goddess in a time of extreme turmoil, after I'd begun to part ways with my previous matron who I'd worked with since I was 12.
While I am currently possibily dealing with signs from potentially 2 unknown gods, and will update this if I accept, the three gods I work with and worship mean a great deal to me, and I'm forever glad I got the opportunity to work with them
