  Okie doke, this is going to take a little explaining
  
  When the Bible says "do not love the world and yourself" it doesn't mean that you shouldn't have self love, or that you shouldn't care about anyone.
  
  When the Bible talks about loving yourself in a negative way, it's talking about narcissism, greed, and being selfish. That would NOT be self-love, it would be self-adoration.
  
  The Bible usually, if not always, refers to the world as a sinful place, so when it says "loving the world" it pretty much means "loving sin". So when they say that you shouldn't love the world, it means that you shouldn't be super materialistic and that you shouldn't love sin.
  
  I rest my case.
