Catholics and protestants are both part of the christian religion. It's like how maroon and pink aren't the same colors, but they're both red.
Basically, the definition of a christian is somebody who believes Jesus - who was God in the form of a man - died on a cross for our sins. Catholics believe that, and so do protestants.
They do (at least most of them) pray to Mary and Joseph, but they aren't worshipping Mary and Joseph like they're other gods. If they worshipped Mary like a god, that would be blasphemy, and they would be considered non-christians. But they don't.
According to eilloh (who, from what she has said, I figure she's almost never been to a catholic church or known anyone who was catholic), another reason they aren't christians is because they think Jesus is a "pale-faced man with blonde hair, but that's stupid, because Jesus looked 'Jewish'".
I don't know if there's any words I can use to explain how incredibly wrong that statement is.
First of all, eilloh, since catholics are so stupid that they believe Jesus had pale skin and blonde hair (and I don't even know if they really believe that), would you mind telling us what Jesus really looked like, so then we can all know? Because apparently, you seem to know exactly what Jesus looked like, since you're sure catholics are so incredibly wrong. So please post here and tell us what Jesus looked like. -

I mean, eilloh, scientists (at least the ones who believe jesus existed) have been trying to peice information together and figure out what Jesus looked like for years. Decades, in fact. So I'm sure everybody here is just dying to know what jesus looked like. So please post here and tell us, so then the mystery will finally be solved.

I imagine Jesus was dark skinned like the jews,had those common dark brown eyes,had endurance and stamina from helping his father as carpenter.I believe that he also does not look like some gay god with long flowing curly hair and sad looking blue eyes.

Because I became a christian when I was 5. Until I was about 8 or 9, I always imagined him as a white person with long brown hair, and blue or brown eyes. You know, like they draw him in the books about the nativity. So even though I believed that Jesus died on the cross for my sins since I was 5, I wasn't a christian until I was about 9?

I generally believe Jesus looked Jewish too but I have no way of *really* knowing what he looked like.
But still, even if you believe Jesus was orange with blue spiky hair, that has no effect on whether or not you're a Christian. -

Then if you believe that, why in the heck would you say that catholics believing that Jesus had blonde hair was a reason they aren't christians?

tongue AdvancedThere's no way of knowing what Jesus looked like. There arren't photos or anything. Sure it's completely dumb for him to be blonde-haired, but there is no truly accurate depiction of Christ. It's completely trivial.
