(i'm going to have to give you a crash course in biology for this to make sense. And it's a repost of mine from another thread so dont get confused about the primordial ooze thing.)
The idea behind the primordial ooze is actually the theory that prokaryotic cells were formed from the raw materials in the ocean. Also known as 'Genesis', life from lifelessness. All a prokaryotic cell is, is DNA and a cell membrane. Human DNA is divided up into 46 individual genes. Each gene is actually only 3 basic elements fused together on a microscopic scale. If you figure that this would require 138 random placements of elements to occur you would be right. But take into account that this is after the creation of the oceans and that the waters would be filled with free floating sedements. All it would require is for it to happen once on the entire planet over the course of a few million years. After a few prokaryotic cells have been formed osmosis would take over and start populating from there.
And evolution isnt just the primordial ooze idea. It also takes into effect adaptations of species over time. Look at it this way, Why do we need a new flue shot every year? Because the flue virus is continually mutating and changing to defend itself from the previous vaccine. All living organisms are continually mutating. Some of them are bad, some are good, and some dont really do anything at all. But usually organisms with a bad mutation end up dying off before they can reproduce and pass the negative genes on to the next generation, while the organisms with good or neutral mutations can live longer and reproduce more.
This is mutation through adaptation. And it's around us every day. We live through it and we see it all the time. You may not believe in evolution, but please dont be blind to what you can see. I envy people who have found god, because you can take comfort in your own beliefs and nothing else matters. I take my comfort in what I can see. I personally find that what is around me every day is much more real and much more comforting that an all-powerful being who will judge my fate for eternity.
Further more, science never says that they are right. In fact, scientism is the only belief system that will openly admit that they might be wrong. But they are also the only one that is willing to go out and find proof that they may be right.
And also, if you still dont believe that evolution is real, look at the earth your standing on. If creationism is true than everything existed at the same time. Why cant we find modern cats and dinosaurs in the same layer? Shouldnt polar bears and Wooly mammoths be found right next to each other? If creationism were true, the layers of the earth wouldnt mean anything. But we can see the changes and adaptations of earth right infront of us. All of earths major era's and changes can be seen in order every day.
I am not a religious person but I have no issue with the idea behind religion. But the point of the bible isnt to show us exact events, but to give us morale and spiritual examples on a right way to live.
