What they do is horrible, I mean very few things can make me tear up, but hearing what they do at funerals. I had heard of them before and whatnot, but something sparked in me when I heard another news story about them. "Thank God for dead soldiers"??? At soldiers' funerals. Have they no shame?
Sure, free speech is their right, but there are just somethings you just shouldn't do, unless you are out of your mind. I don't care if you disagree with someone's politics or whatever, do they not understand how devastating that is to the families? As a former military kid that fuking hurts. My dad risking his life in dangerous places just so they have even the right to free speech. And one close family friend is now a quadrilplegic because of his sacrifice.
And plus they're supposedly a Christian church?? A baptist church? Seriously, they don't know anything about God's love and Word. I was even talking to my mom and dad about this, whom are very dedicated Christians, and they agree what they do this completely wrong. My dad pointed out that just because they say they are "Christian" or "Baptist" doesn't mean they are correctly living and demonstrating God's Word. They themselves are sinning by being hateful and self-righteous. "Ye who is without sin, cast the first stone."
In the end, you don't have to agree with how someone lives their lives or consider it right, but it is not good or brings God glory to judge and condemn another human's soul. What gives you the right to do that? They are extremists, who take a verse or two from the Bible and twist it in a way to make themselves feel better or stronger. So if they believe homosexuality is wrong, than why don't they bring up sex out of marriage, lying, stealing, murder, vainity, contempt, envy, power, greed, genocide, racism, or whatever else that is sin? Why? Because they would find themselves guilty of something. And then think of how someone who is just homosexual is just living their life, loving someone, maybe wanting to take care a kid who doesn't have any parents and is stuck in a foster home, maybe want to serve their country, and are just like everyone else, in yet they think that's the worst thing that could happen in the world. -_-
But I want to make clear that not all Christians are like that. Good works and being the "best" doesn't put you in heaven. Loving God and Jesus and recognizing we are all sinners and need to be saved will bring you close to God, which is what heaven actually is.
That just really irritated me. Ugh. Sorry for the long rant! lol That's just my take on it all. -
