There is a difference between the Catholic church and the other Christian faiths, in that it is the original, and therefore correct, faith to follow if you want to do as Christ said to, or as he would want us to, do. Now if you're not Christian at all (which, yes, I know, a s---load of you aren't Christian) then this really makes no difference to you, unless you're just curious as to why I make the claim that the Catholic church is the oldest of all Christian faiths. And how I can say this is that, it is known to people that are willing to learn, that the first time the word "Catholic", meaning "universal" was applied to the, at the time, single Christian faith was in the first few years of the second century, and around 8 years after the last Apostle of Jesus himself, John, died. So for those of you who think that your Christian faith or "subcategory" as you might call it, came first, then unless you are Catholic, that belief is incorrect. Do the research yourself if you want, it's all there in the books. And yes, the Bible isn'tthe only book to go by, as it doesn't tell everything, only the essentials that make it possible to understand other books, and needs explaining to know for sure that you understand it correctly.
This wasn't meant in a mean or discriminating way, no matter how much it may sound that way. It was neant as enlightenment, and a way for people to know the truth, no matter how much it disagrees with what they've been taught. I say all of this as much in the tone of voice of "listen, for this is known to be true for who are willing to learn and find it out themselves" as I can, instead of that of "Hey, what you're doing is wrong wrong completely wrong so change your ways and do what I say because I kniw something you don't", because this was in no way intended as an insult or in discrimination of others. Only the passing on of knowledge. -
"The first therefore, the correct"
So you mean to say everytime something is first, it is right.
That's outlandish stupid. -
Sharon Lewis NewbieWrong!!, to my own understanding if u truely believe God,ur church has notin to do wit ur faith.
EXPLANATION:
ON JUGDEMENT DAY GOD WON'T ASK WHAT CHURCH DID ATTEND OR WHY DID'NT U GO TO CATHOLIC.So my point here is:from ur heart ur willing to serve him it does'nt matter where u attented,is do dey preach d right word?. -
Not necessarily, in some cases, including this one, the first is the correct, because it came straight from Jesus, not what someone said "well I don't beleive that so I'mma go believe this" to.
*sigh* I don't men Church as in building. I mean church as in faith, or sub-category of Christianity (ex. Lutherans, Baptists, Catholics)
And He won't have to ask, as He already knows, even now.
And it does matter, since there are a ton of differences between each faith under Christianity. To believe "correctly" (I don't exactly know what word to use without going into great detail) then it's not a free-for-all as some people would get you to think. There is one way to do something right, and one way to think, and if not, then it's not what you're supposed to, although God will 'cut you some slack' so to speak, if you never knew what was true and what wasn't. But that's why I posted this, to let the truth be known. -
The true, original faith, and therefore the correct one? LOL that's rich. Not only is that incorrect, as the foundation of all monotheistic faiths is actually Judaism, it's also hilariously misguided to think that organized religion of any kind represents spirituality in its purest, truest form. All organized religion is corrupt, true spirituality is found outside of the flock.
-
Damn you, don't ypu know how to read? I'm talking about Christianity, not all monotheistic religion. Ugh.
-
The Swedish Geek NoviceAnd if the catholics hadn't been so corrupt they'd still be all of Christianity!
-
The Swedish Geek NoviceAlso, the correct christianity isn't the first. The first ideas are generally the most unrefined and incorrect.
-
Yes, I'm the dumb one. The point I was making is that Judaism is the foundation of Christianity. The Old Testament of the Bible was written by the ancient Israelites. I used the words "all monotheistic faiths" because Islam, Judaism, and Christianity are called the Abrahamic faiths, meaning they all believe in God as described by Abraham, the founder of Judaism. But I'll make my ultimate point nice and simple and watered down: Catholicism was just the first rip-off of Judaism in a long line of many.

Sharon Lewis NewbieAbraham:father of Isaac and Ish`mael(aka father of faith) he brought the nation of isreal (is-real,GOD ISREAL) and other countrys through Ish`mael like the arab people (i think) blessed by God and today the blessing is transferring generations to generations.
Moses:sent by God to deliver the isrealites from the hands of the egyptians, gave them the ten commandments which is kept till this day.
JESUS:his coming was preached by prohept jeremiah,Elisha etc, healed the sick, gave sight to the blind, restored hearing to the deaf, did lots of things that no one has done before, died on a tree for doing good,he was born by no waman, yes Mary did bring him into this word (but not through sex) God has spoken (the spoken word) to her womb and then Jesus was there,Jesus the son of God and of man (died to save us including you, whoever is reading this message) He is the king of peace waiting for his rightfull bride, wit him u have peace (there is always a test) so Just so you people know HE IS MY GOD. -

it doesn't matter what branch of Christianity you participate in. I'm Lutheran. so? I believe in Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord. And the Holy Spirit and yadayadayada.
That makes me a Christian!!!
and BTW are you Catholic? Because you swore. Do all Catholics do that? Cuz that sort of makes your branch the least supreme...
