I'm curious. Is there anyone here who believes that mass hysteria happens in churches?

Maybe give an example of what you mean? -
Mass hysteria: a condition affecting a group of persons, characterized by excitement or anxiety, irrational behavior or beliefs, or inexplicable symptoms of illness.
People say that mass hysteria happens instead of the people in the church actually being touched by God or his presence.
Ex: When one person starts crying, the rest start to cry because of "mass hysteria". -
Yep. Especially when they have those "healing" things.

The way I see it, if we can categorize and understand phenomenon step by step, it doesn't eliminate god from the equation.
Not that im religious, because im not, but what im suggesting is that its not a question of whether its god touching a church or mass hysteria. Because in the end, observation of the natrual world doesn't alienate its potential creator.
But then again, mass hysteria itself sounds like a half assed theory so who knows.
